I think he does not represent Islam at all, mainly because they believe that Elijah Mohammad (Founder of the Nation of Islam) is a Messaiah or prophet and secondly the Nation of Islam is basically a black supremacist organization, and they possess extreme hatred towards non blacks. Maybe someone else can throw some more light on this.

thanx

There teaching is not any where close to islam. The only thing in common is part of the name ISLAM.

I've come across 2 opinions from scholars on the nation of islam.

1.) Those who say they do not know what the Nation of Islam's beliefs are, and thus do not wish to comment on thwm.

2.) Those who state that the Nation of Islam are heretics.

they do not fast during ramadan as they say the quran says that you do not need to fast if you are on a journey and the NOI claim that they are on a spiritual journey-subhanallah! Anyway may Allah guide them to the correct path.

Those are the popular ideas that are floating around, but most of them are based on what was true forty years ago. I guess what i want to know, is how much of that is still true today?

The Nation of islam are not muslims because they have said that there is another prophet after the last prophet Muhammed (saw).

DonJuan DeMarco has explained well. Few months ago I heard that Nation of Islam has entered in true Islam and have abandon their fake brand of religion. It happened as the followers of Nation of Islam forced Farrakhan to change and he agreed under pressure. But this good news seems to be not true. As I went to their web site (www.noi.org) and found the same old false belief. Following are few points pasted from their article on “What The Muslims Believe”. (the title should have being what nation of Islam believes):
.
.
… (5) WE BELIEVE in the the resurrection of the dead–not in physical resurrection–but in mental resurrection. We believe that the so-called Negroes are most in need of mental resurrection; therefore they will be resurrected first.

Furthermore, we believe we are the people of God’s choice, as it has been written, that God would choose the rejected and the despised. We can find no other persons fitting this description in these last days more that the so-called Negroes in America. We believe in the resurrection of the righteous.
.
.
…**(12) WE BELIEVE that Allah (God) appeared in the Person of Master W. Fard Muhammad, July, 1930; the long-awaited “Messiah” of the Christians and the “Mahdi” of the Muslims.
**
After reading the article (http://www.noi.org/program.html) to me it sound like conspirasy; if not when this organization was origination, but now non-muslims may want to use this organization to weaken Islam. Who knows that Farrakhan is a friends of non-muslims behind the scene.

Nation of Islam is distortion.
Its not Islam.
Bottom line is its some wired religon.
Its totaly messed up . DOnt confuse it with ISLam.
Some stupid Black's idea of Religon.
He should be shot........Wait he is Dead.
whatever......

non-muslims they are

~Survival of the smartest~

In the early 1980s the original Nation of Islam officially abandoned its beliefs and the majority of its adherents became Sunni Muslims. However, a faction led by Farrakhan rejected this and persisted with their previous racist and corrupted beliefs.

Since when have Pakis be given the authority to decide who is Muslim and who is not? Go and check out Islam in your own country and let other worry about their own faith. If someone says s/he is Muslim, no one has any right to say otherwise. You can call yourself dog’s behind and people will believe you. If they don’t then start a campaign to get recognition.

By the way, the Nation of Islam’s version of Islam is much better than that being practiced in Afghanistan.

We are a superior nation or at least we think we are just like the US or UK who use their right to call whoever they like a terrorist whenever they want.

So Khan-Sahib, by them calling someone Terrorist, does that Nation become Terrorist? If you believe that you are what they call you, then it is truly a sorry state.

According to the official web site of the ‘Nation of Islam’ ( http://www.noi.org/ ), the following are the basic beliefs ascribed to by the members of the group:

  • 1.WE BELIEVE in the One God whose proper Name is Allah.

  • 2.WE BELIEVE in the Holy Qur’an and in the Scriptures of all the Prophets of God.

  • 3.WE BELIEVE in the truth of the Bible, but we believe that it has been tampered with and must be reinterpreted so that mankind will not be snared by the falsehoods that have been added to it.

  • 4.WE BELIEVE in Allah’s Prophets and the Scriptures they brought to the people.

  • 5.WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of the dead–not in physical resurrection–but in mental resurrection.

  • 6.WE BELIEVE in the judgement; we believe this first judgement will take place as God revealed, in America…

  • 7.WE BELIEVE this is the time in history for the separation of the so-called Negroes and the so-called white Americans. We believe the black man should be freed in name as well as in fact. By this we mean that he should be freed from the names imposed upon him by his former slave masters. Names, which identified him as being the slave master’s slave. We believe that if we are free indeed, we should go in our own people’s names–the black people of the Earth.

  • 8.WE BELIEVE in justice for all, whether in God or not; we believe as others, that we are due equal justice as human beings. We believe in equality–as a nation–of equals. We do not believe that we are equal with our slave masters in the status of “freed slaves.” We recognize and respect American citizens as independent peoples and we respect their laws which govern this nation.

  • 9.WE BELIEVE that the offer of integration is hypocritical and is made by those who are trying to deceive the black peoples into believing that their 400-year-old open enemies of freedom, justice and equality are, all of a sudden, their “friends.” Furthermore, we believe that such deception is intended to prevent black people from realizing that the time in history has arrived for the separation from the whites of this nation. If the white people are truthful about their professed friendship toward the so-called Negro, they can prove it by dividing up America with their slaves. We do not believe that America will ever be able to furnish enough jobs for her own millions of unemployed, in addition to jobs for the 20,000,000 black people as well.

  • 10.WE BELIEVE that we who declare ourselves to be righteous Muslims, should not participate in wars which take the lives of humans. We do not believe this nation should force us to take part in such wars, for we have nothing to gain from it unless America agrees to give us the necessary territory wherein we may have something to fight for.

  • 11.WE BELIEVE our women should be respected and protected as the women of other nationalities are respected and protected.

  • 12.WE BELIEVE that Allah (God) appeared in the Person of Master W. Fard Muhammad, July, 1930; the long-awaited “Messiah” of the Christians and the “Mahdi” of the Muslims. We believe further and lastly that Allah is God and besides HIM there is no god and He will bring about a universal government of peace wherein we all can live in peace together.

Once one has completely understood what Islam is, one can easily see that besides the first four elements of faith cited from the official web site of the Nation of Islam, all the remaining elements of faith are partly or completely alien to Islam.

I hope this answers your query.

As to whether they are Muslims are not - that is a different discussion altogether, and is one, in which I would not be interested in taking part.

They shoot partypoopers, don’t they?

If u sincerely believed in this theory that one doesn't become Kafir by someone else calling him Kafir then the arguement wouldn't have arisen. Also, you wouldn't judge who is better between Nation of Islam or Taliban using your theory.

It is upto the person to judge himself. If he is doing the things right according to what he believes (not just faith but speaking-out-loud facts as well) then he doesn't have to worry about anything.

Two people can see same thing and can have different opinions about it but who is right? I think it's the responsibility of the people to find out.

Allah Knows best, But Allah has also given us brain. Use it, your notion of just calling your self a Muslim does not make any one Muslim you have to follow the teaching of Mohammed PBUH and Allah. And this post is about Nation of Islam so stick to the point.

Khan Sahib, I never questioned whether or not Taliban are Muslim or not. I don’t have that much power to decided who is Muslim and who is not. I take everyone’s word for what they tell me who they are. However, I can judge them by their actions, but even then it wouldn’t give me any right to question their beliefs or religion. It’s not under my jurisdiction. Last time I checked, I have not yet been promoted to be God. May be in future. God knows when.

Tazz… if Allah gave you brains, you wouldn’t be deadset on what you “believe”. Brains are beliefs are two separate issues. You seem to have a lot of belief.
