The Muslims upstairs

Living in an apartment building, a heavy step upstairs easily becomes an annoyance downstairs. Children running around sounds like a herd of elephants for those below who have to endure. A Bangladeshi family moved in. A few days after they moved in, I paid them a visit and found that all the ruckus was because of them moving furniture around. Okay, no problem. But their kids run around, the adults sometimes walk a bit too heavily, and I have a perpetual never-ending stream of coursework. I have banged on the ceiling, I have called the landlords to complain. But they are still at it. What now?

Why can’t people control their kids? I mean, am I supposed to listen to the kids running around like deranged idiots and actually go “aww, how cute?” The only reason I have not set camp outside the landlord’s office is because they are Muslims and I don’t like ratting on people in general.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

Bear in mind many people find it perfectly normal to have kids run around and playing as loud as they wish. In fact, many even appreciate it.

We know this family where their kids used to come over, touch everything, sometimes even break things at our place and they found it normal. They think it's normal for kids to act such way. They took pride in it and encouraged it.

Some just aren't bothered by wild kids. They are used to it; hence, it isn't a form of annoyance for them.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

It's funny how the woman wears hijab. But yet she lets her kids inconvenience others. Responsibilities to others and consideration toward others should come before namaz, hijab, etc.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

Do you speak to the mother? Make your concerns politely known to her.

If they continue, tell her again. If it continues again, bring 'Islam' into it. Then, get nasty.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

this has to be one of the stupidest comments ever made on here

Re: The Muslims upstairs

and why is it stupid ?

I agree with the general statement, i dont agree with bringing hijab into it.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

SS, it could be that she has never noticed it as a nuisance. Next time when you hear a stampede, go complain to her directly how it disturbs your studying or gives you headaches. See what she does about it.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

Just give them a call every time they’re being a little too loud and after a few phone calls, they’ll get the point. (hopefully :bummer: )

Re: The Muslims upstairs

I hate kids. Wild desi kids and their clueless/apathetic parents who can’t control em. There are some who I truly feel for and try to be patient with, like my cousin whose two kids are like shaitaans in the form of Bubbaloo and Jabrar.

What do their being Muslim have to do with it? They’re just like any other ppl with deranged kids. Talk to em politely three times, then rat on em and take pride in it. Btw I hate hte term “rat.” It implies that someone who decides to go to a higher authority to solve their problems as a last resort are those ugly lil creatures. You’re paying for that apartment, get what you’re paying for.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

^ LOL!! :rotfl: aaw yea some of the wild desi kids that come to the musjid are really annoying too, and what really pisses me off is that the mother’s don’t say anything to them. maybe someone needs to tell them that it’s NOT CUTE.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

Don’t get me started on mosques :mad2:

Re: The Muslims upstairs

^ lol oh i already have like 4 times :hehe:

Re: The Muslims upstairs

Once at my mosque someone out of sheer anger sprayed the fire extinguisher at some noisy kids :hehe:

Sometimes there are no other options.

^ OMG!! that’s so mean! he could’ve hurt them! :frowning: what was he thinking? i’ll bet the parents got real mad…

man, once these kids kept laughing in the middle of namaaz and just hearing them laughing made me wanna laugh but i held it in :hula:

Re: The Muslims upstairs

Alhamdulillah our mosque has two areas for females. The upstairs is for females without kids and the basement/cafe is for women with little kids, so it works out very nicely, alhamdulillah.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

Checking out guys in mosques? :nono4:

Now if a guy was to do the same to a girl, he would be called a perv and get lynched.

Re: The Muslims upstairs

WELL it is kinda pervy to check out hijabis

Re: The Muslims upstairs

And ok to check out non-hijabis?

Believe me, many of us guys find hijabis very attractive, moreso than non-hijabis.
