He is about 40 something and no he does not have a crush on me and is not hitting on me. This ullu sits behind me at work. He is extremely loud and obnoxious. Ok fine. Whatever… but he has a habit of saying hi to me multiple times throughout the day, and is very obnoxious. He knows it bothers me, and I have even attempted to ignore him. Sometimes he laughs and sometimes he gets offended. One time I was speaking to someone in the breakroom he tried to interuppt my conversation and I ignored him and he playfully kicked me, I ignored the entire ordeal finished my convo and left the breakroom. One time I was looking at a menu of a local halaal resteraunt and he asked me if I could get him food, than passed the menu around to our entire team asking them what they wanted, everyone was going to pay for their own food, but I am not their security. They need to use their own ******* gas, and break time to get their food. I told him I am not going to that place anymore and went over my friends house for lunch. He does this very often. One time I was driving back, and he called me from work, (the same number appears when you use a work phone) I thought the call was from a manager, so I answered and he asked me if I minded picking up a few sandwichs from Mickey Dz. I told him NO my lunch is over and im around the corner. At one point I even asked him you have a car, you can handle getting your own lunch, and he was like I NEVER LEAVE TO GET FOOD. Ok sorry not my problem… Allah gave you two hands to feed one mouth. WORK IT OUT.
How do I handle this? This is seriously distracting, I cant get any work done like this. I have already tried to ignore, laugh it off, show that I am angry and frustrated but he DOES NOT seem to get the hint.
Also since I am getting married soon I am learning how to cook and often ask others for tips, if any of this is mentioned to him, he says ok bring the food into work tomorrow. Ok i aint your mama. It aint my job to feed you. He even had the audacity to ask me to ask my mom to make biryani for him. One time my fiance was bringing me lunch and he asked me do you think he will mind if i asked him to bring me some, I was like i dont know ask him yourself.
You need to sit down and have a serious meeting with him...if you laugh it off etc he'll just carry on doing it. Explain that his behaviour is extremely unprofessional and that you'll have no choice but to raise it with management if it carries on.
If he's asking you to bring in food from home for him, not a good sign. You should have said "yes, he will mind."

yeah but i dont want to give him that importance. And he is very loud, like if I was to sit down and talk he would be very loudly obnoxious and than go tell the rest of the team I am being uptight.
They all pick on me because I am a lot younger than them and have a better job.
The guy is a jerk obviously. Either talk to him so he could cut his cr*p out or inform your manager. This...'behaviour'...is low-level pervish if you ask me.

Really Desi_BeauTii...you are not giving him any importance ! Its a serious issue that can easily escalate into something else! You need to iron out these types of issues quickly. If you feel unable to do it, then make sure that you report it to your line manager, so he/ she is aware of it. You can also asked to be moved so he isn't sitting behind you??
Awww...being young doesn't mean that they can walk all over you. Try and be more assertive and firm with him. If he needs to be put in his place, then do it. I'm sure your work colleagues can see through his obnoxious behaviour, he probably thinks its amusing!

A polite hello in the morning is enough, if he tries to get your attention again...just say "I'm busy right now, if its not work related it can wait"

You need to tell him straight. I had a similar problem but on alot higher scale (sexism, racism, bullied by this total chavy guy at work). I put up with it for over a year. Sometimes I would get so mad and other times I'd have to leave my desk because I'd get teary.
I ended up hating my job and found GS lol... not the best career move.
So you need to tell him before you end up hating where you work because of this person. You've tried being subtle.

All he wants is food! That does not make him obnoxious or pervy!
It seems to me that he's the type of person that probably won't get the hint if you try and talk to him. Are other people annoyed by his behavior as well, or are you the only target of his annoyance? If others are involved get them together and go to your manager and have a talk. Maybe they can move him or you away from one another.

I was eating my lunch at my desk one day (I always eat at my desk so that I can surf GS actually I just gone done eating)
He came up to me asked me for some of my food... me being the person I am I never say no to food. He took 1/4 of my naan, and 2 pieces of chicken and a decent amount of salad, than asked the guy that sits next to me if he wanted any of the food that was left for me.
Now he is also always willing to share his food with everyone. But im not im a private person.
Another girl at work made him samosas, and he came up to me, showed me, ate it in front of me (at his own desk), smiled and shaked his head in a good way to show me he enjoyed it, and said something alongs the line of... "shes better than you she makes me food".
Luckily he's getting demotd, majority of my team is due to company needs. However he has applied for a supervisor position so if he gets it, he will be equal to me again, and he NEVER follows directions. He always gives people walk up support which is a BIG no no on my team.
I have tried very hard to be more assertive, he will make a stupid comment or someone else will. (another crazy kali that sits behind me that doesnt know how to read) and they will all laugh at my expense, and I cant even get one word in, so I go and sit down, and than they are all like WTF is wrong with her. They have even said im "the baby" of the team.
