Wow Mabrook, that is mad, defo lately they haven't been quite so strict. I was there just three weeks ago and there was a flight going to India at the same time I was leaving so I thought they might be more vigilant but hardly any of those passengers were being asked to take their shoes off. I was wearing a hat and they didn't ask me to remove that either.
