The most Annoying Airports

which ones u find annoying. i find london one most annoying. esp when they make u take shoes off. last time they argued with my hubby for this perfume bottle with only lil bit left in it. they sent it to lab and got chked. when we got cleared i opened my handbag and saw my own perfume full bottle lying there untouched.
and then there’s Frankfurt its so much walking and no body ever speaks in english so getting lost is easy.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

Manchester airport didn't let me take my cream with me. The stupid woman took all of it out and put it in a plastic bag. I just told her to "keep it". Now whenever I travel I never bother taking my makeup out.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

yeh MANCHESTER airport,, gave me hard time

Re: The most Annoying Airports

Charles De'Gualle in Paris, Simon Bolivar in Caracas and Abu Dhabi International Airport

Re: The most Annoying Airports

Getting bothered with security checks is not a good use of time. Its for our security, afterall.

Annoying airports ... well, thats a whole different topic. Heathrow always seem to be under construction, which is totally annoying. Plus, the airport has a weird design (Term 3) which requires all passengers of all flights to be seated in one central place. This is counter-intuitive, because you would want passengers to be spread out to their gates to avoid congestion.

Dubai has a very nice airport, but man, it is built in one long line. I came in via Airbus 380 (new terminal) on gate 240 something. My hotel was near gate 101 or something, and it was a long straight walk. Who the hell designed that airport where there are no people movers, no shuttles and just keep walking. Dubai airport has lots of eating options, but surprisingly I don't think they have a single restaurant where you can sit down and order. All our take-away and find a place to sit. This can be very annoying, especially when the airport is crowded.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

A agree with KKF on Abu Dhabi's airport!! We were suppose to go to Pakistan and for some reason we landed in Abu Dhabi...and were trying to explain to the airport ppl our situation so they can help us catch a flight out to Pakistan...and btw...it was just my mom and I...so none of them would give us the time of day..they wouldn't even look at us...let alone talk to us!! This was driving us CRAZY!! Then this really nice guy saw that we were having trouble and he talked to the mean airport ppl and helped us catch a flight...and he even stayed with us until it was time to leave...soooo sweet!! To bad he was already taken :P

and an honorable mention goes out to Minneapolis St. Paul International airport...cause whenever we go there....we get stopped...for no reason whatsoever...they call it a "random check" yea random check my foot!!!

**
aaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww tooo bad he was taken :frowning: :cb:

i had arrived from Delhi on Gulf Air and had a connecting flight to London and on to Toronto via New York. my flight from Delhi was delayed and hence missed my flight to London. i repeatedly asked them [politely and then angrily] to put me on another flight which was ready to leave for Houston. they didn’t care. so, finally i walked into the manager’s room and talked to him and he then di the needful. its Airlines’ responsibilty to either put the transit passenger in a Hotel or arrange for an alternate flight if their incoming flight gets delayed for any reason other than the weather…

and besides, did i tell u that these fat-neck arabs were blatantly disregarding the no-smoking prohibition and were openly smoking while the “miskeen” staff were too scared to enforce the no smoking by-law…i hate arabs for that and miskeen employees who are so timid.**

I’m sorry to hear about your situation man…but its sorta nice to know that there not only rude to women!! But at least they talked to you!! And man they were really intimadating…they were all like 6 feet tall and yes they were all smoking!!

Re: The most Annoying Airports

I hate all airports, but I truly hate Pearson.

Okay no i hate the US customs officials more. I still hope that officer gets BR some day.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

US customs officials like sara 516 said ^

Re: The most Annoying Airports

I would say Amsterdam .. man do they interrogate you like a criminal .. and I am talking pre-sept 11 era ...they grilled me and my wife like we are the first cousin of Osama. Ulloo loug ..

Re: The most Annoying Airports

Karachi airport, because when you arrive the jackass customs ppl act like you are some smuggler extraordinaire and just ask stupid questions and annoy you but the goal is just to get some baksheesh, freelance helpers attack you as soon as you leave the airport and while I feel for the poverty and the tough life people have, 10 ppl 'helping' me by having their hands on my cart is of no use, and I am more than willing to pay a fair wage for someone who pushes my cart and loads the suitcase in the car, but the demands seem to be very high.

departiung from the same airport, same mess, stupid questions about stuff that I am taking, bs delays, and blatant open asking for bribes, used to be some airport fee, i would be asked more than the amount, forget about getting change.

I cant stand majority of airports in middle east, abu dhabi, bahrain, doha just annoying, inefficient, illconceived, and not comfortable in general.

frankfurt is another annoying airport.

and last but not the least. JFK.
I would gladly pay more to land at Newark or come to chicago directly. its less of an airport issue even though I find the airport dirty, but its the ppl working there.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

Mumbai Airport is very good so is Zurich but didnt like Geneva it looks kind of old even Mumbai airport is better than geneva

Re: The most Annoying Airports

frankfurt airport is annoying. no signs in english, no water anywhere! they have like 3 bookstores but i want water dammit! plus no proper seating place anywhere.

heathrow's annoying too. i dunno why i just don't like it.

and the security and check in at lahore airport is irritating and annoying. if you don't have the address label to be stamped they won't let you through. what BS is that!

Re: The most Annoying Airports

Frankfurt and New Delhi.

Frankfurt because in most European airports you can smoke in designated areas and in Frankfurt, they seem to be doing a way too much of it. It's also very dirty.

New Delhi, because it's full of lame attitude-filled losers who try to act fresh with you and cheat you. And they think you are an idiot.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

i now remember jeddah airport. the officials r fine as long as u r a girl travelling alone or u r going as a family but if u a single guy boy u hav to pay for being a guy there. they even take ur shirt off. i passed customs easily with cds in my suitcase but were i a guy no way.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

Frankfurt..like everyone said no English signs, ou feel lost.

Abudhabi…everything seems to be coming on to you..weird dome design

and yea Heathrow - very chaotic.

My favorite so far is Honk Kong airport..well organized, carts for easy access and extremely clean:k:

Re: The most Annoying Airports

So Frankfurt n Heathrow r winning so far...argh...we calgarians just can't avoid them.

Re: The most Annoying Airports

I find Beirut airport very weird and Muscat airport. I like Dubai and Lahore airports :D

Re: The most Annoying Airports

People complaining about Airports should visit, Damascus Airport and if they still have doubts and complains about Airports then they should go to Dushanbe Airport..

At Damascus Airport i had to shout like anything to get my immigration done as the immigration officer for NON-ARAB PASSPORT HOLDERS was not their and others said that they couldn't put EXIT stamp on my Passport, it was untill i start shouting in Pujnabi+Arabic+English = GET THE MESSAGE ACROSS and this officer came out of his office and did the needful...

At Dushanbe Airport, when the flight landed, it was hard for me to find the ariport to start with, it was only when i followed a crowd and reached a building wanna-be structure... the officer their gave me a form in Russian and told me in sign language to fill it and walked away, none of the officer speaks any language known to free-world including Punjabi.. to my surprise Pakistani passport helped me there and i got the immigration done without much hasstle, but they try every bit to rob me.. it was a blessing that i didn't speak any Russian and they didn't understand a word of my Punjabi..
