Is this where one would discuss cars?

Re: The Mini
Yes this is the right forum.
It has a 1.6L engine with 4 cylinders, 115 HP with 111 in torque.
I would buy it too if it had the leg space I need.
Re: The Mini
have you seen the insides of it?! my goodness me its sooo beautiful, if there ever was a machine worth worshipping, this is it.
1.6 eh? damn...what about the just the Mini Cooper...no S
Re: The Mini
haha .. don't bother. Your abba jee will not buy you one. If you just need to dream, go higher. Corvette has a great interior too.
And yes I have driven the mini. It's no fun after a little while when the back pain kicks in. It's like riding the motorbike, its glamorous only the first few times. Besides I have to share the road with big F-350s not some golf VW. Have you ever seen one of those?
Re: The Mini
here's something that'll sway your dad.. in the US at least the Mini leads in lowest depreciation.. so u get good lease terms on it..
Re: The Mini
Corvettes aren’t sold in England…
Anyway MM, He’re the deal on the 1.6S Convertible
http://www.whatcar.co.uk/RoadTest_Summary.asp?DL=0&RT=213409
It’s got 170hp with 162lbs of torque. All at the knock-down price of £17,600 .
Re: The Mini
Ahmadji..me dads the one who suggesed that car..not me. Its his dream car, im only going along as its comes in orange.
PA its me that needs to be swayed not my papa.
Thanks Maddie..is £17,600 a good price? my dad seems to think it is
Re: The Mini
Just looking at that car gives me claustrophobia... but nevermind. I am sure its small size is ideal for gals trying to park in cramped spaces.
Oh... in orange color, u say.... Oh well!!!
Re: The Mini
fasial, im a tiny little girl so i need a small car which in turn will mean that i wont be able to offer lifts to extended (fat) family members…oh no
oh and dont worry about parking, i usually get a guy to do it…given the fact that i cant even drive yet. this car is my incentive.
isnt orange a fabulous colour? it doesnt come in a hot pink ![]()
Re: The Mini
it does come in hot pink. I don't know about resale value though. But if aba jee is buying it, than who cares?
Re: The Mini
why would i need to think about resale value?
Re: The Mini
It depends on your budget. Different people are in different positions.
For a performance car like a Mini S, £17,600 is a good price. Plus it holds its value well, so after 3 years you can sell it if you wish.
Unfortunately, due to the high demand for it, you’re unlikely to be able to negotiate on that price at all.
Also, £17,500 will get you a Mini with the bare minimum number of options on there. You may find that you have to spend a lot more than that to get the car decently equipped.
I don’t know why you want such a fast sporty car since you can’t take advantage of it without driving illegally fast, but frankly I would recommend that you take a look at the Honda Civic Type-R.
It’s the sports version of the Civic, it also holds its value well, is blisteringly fast and is generally considered one of the best fast cars around. It too costs £17,000 but come more heavily loaded than Mini with options and stuff.

There’s a video review there too.
Re: The Mini
Also, you may want to look at the Mazda MX-5.
It’s a convertible too, though it sits just 2 people. It’s a car that girls look great in though ![]()
Re: The Mini
Whatever you do, avoid Renaults, Peugeots and Citroens. They look great but are poorly built and generally unreliable.
Try the Toyota MR-2, it too costs around the 17,000 mark.
Re: The Mini
its my dad that wants the mini and i just recently sat in one, and im in love with it too, i know shyte all about cars so i dotn get this whole "performance car" stuff?
i think 1.6 engine would be too much for me anyway...what kinda engine does the normal mini have...not the s or the convertible
Re: The Mini
Maybe because one day you will sell it and would want to get a decent price for it?
Re: The Mini
na ahmadji, i wont ever sell any car i own..just get hubby to buy a new one if i ever get bored.
Maddie, i dont like MR-2's..they're so common
Re: The Mini
All the Minis have a 1.6 litre engine. Type Mini Cooper S has a turbocharged version that makes it much too powerful.
What would suit you would be to get a regular Mini Cooper (that’s the middle of the range version). You could a Convertible Mini Cooper with optional CD player and Air Conditioning for just under 16,000.
A non-convertible regular one would be 2000 pounds less. You could then install a sunroof on it for about 600-1000 pounds.
I think a regular Mini (convertible or non-convertible) would suit you well. You’re the kind of fiery gal it suits ![]()
Dammit but I LOOOVVVEE shopping for cars. If I still lived in England I’d be driving up to Manchester right now to help you buy one ![]()
Re: The Mini
Im no Mankie...urgh! i thought u knew i was better than that...im further up north you nitwit :p
what other cars do you think id suit? im really liking the mini or maybe a Golf, or a Yaris?
Re: The Mini
If you’re from the socio-economic strata that views 17,500 as being good value, then the Yaris is too cheap for you.
The Golf is a great car as well. But from your online persona, I see you in nothing but a Mini (either hardtop or a convertible) or in a Mazda MX-5.
Or, you could do as my brother did. For 17,500 , he bought a 1 year old Lexus IS200.
Someone else posted photos of one of those here
