why dont you look into the ramadan recipe thread ( its a sticky thread ) it has many iftar options .. some recipes in there are really easy , like the bread roll recipe ... try looking in there ...

i went to iftari again last nite n it was only iftari no dinner quite heavy iftari only............here is the list
potato cutlets wth keema filling (this 1 was really yummy will get the recipe from friend n vl post it here)

Choco cake for kids
Selection of fruits
Everything was home made apart from sheermal and choco cakes
Mum made most things but i made the kebabs, chawal, baingan raita and rasmalai
im going to one tomorow so will write that up tomorow too.

Finely slices tomatos, onioins, cucumber, a little chopped green chilli, a good squeeze of lime juice, corrainder and a sprinkle of salt and all mixed together and left in the fridge for atleast 2 hours...its so simple but soooo delcious it goes very quickly and tastes yummmyy with desi food!

I invited my aunts nucles cousins for aftaar last weekend. The menu was as follows:
Sindhi Biryani

Achaar gosht
homemade spring rolls
my famous Breaded cchicken rounds
homemade samosas
fruit chaat
Dessert: Zarda
One particular aunt and uncle don't like eating foreign foods never try anything new, so I had to keep the menu pretty desi otherwise I always make new things I love to eat and cook different things. Will be starting my own recipe blog soon.

I had some guests over on Monday. Mum came over to help.
My menu was:
Keema karele (made by mum)
Chicken chaney
Karahi gosht
Marinated steamed fish with steamed mixed vegetables
Boiled rice
Naan
Salad with avacado, mooli, tomato, lettuce, boiled kidney beans, sweet corn etc with lemon and black pepper dressing
Dessert:
Mixed fruit chaat
Hagen Daz ice cream - (Strawberries & banana smoothie, Strawberry cheesecake, Cookies & cream)

My mum's having some ladies and children over for tea on the weekend the menu is:
Chicken pasta with grilled peppers or chicken stirfry
Haleem
Mini pizzas
Chicken patees
Feta cheese puffs
Muthi lamb kebabs with shallots and tomatoes
Peri peri chicken winges
Lamb samosas
Kala channa
Dhai bade
Cake (flavour to be decided maybe cardamom and lemon)
Mithai
I might also make chilli paneer to provide another veggie option
Tea/coffee and soft drinks of course.

We had Thanksgiving dinner this year at our place! This is what we made:
Appetizers:
Bruschetta ![]()
Olive tapenade with goat cheese spread on panettini
Gol gappay - do not ask me how this fits in with the menu. I was seriously having a craving the size of Texas for gol gappay.
Main course:
Roasted 4 whole chickens with desi spices ![]()
Stuffing with apples, onions and celery
Roasted basil potatoes
Green beans
Corn
Kalay chanay - again a random craving that makes no sense but was mm mm good!
Dessert:
Cheesecake topped with fresh, whole strawberries from a nearby bakery
