My sister in laws are coming on Saturday to spend their children's summer holidays for two months. They will have lunch with us so I am still in process of thinking about the menu, currently I have two options:
Option 1:
Chinese fried rice
Chicken manchuriaqn
Russian Salad
Option 2:
Chicken steak (I'll make it with some gravy)
white rice
Steamed vegitables
And for sweet dish we have decided to serve mangoes as they all love to have it and it's their hot fav summer fruit
Tea party:
chicken macaroni or spaghettis
dahi baray /channa chaat
samosas
sandwiches (egg or chicken)
chicken steam roast
home baked cake
tea/coffee/green tea
Dawat (Desi):
mutton karahi
chicken pulao
(or vice versa)
chicken masala roast (cooked in yogurt with masala jaat )
fish fried
seekh kababs or kabab masala
sometimes haleem (my mom used to make it…never tried myself)
salads (fresh, macaroni, beans)
raita, chutney
Drinks
IceCeam or some delight
Green tea
Chinese:
Soup
Egg fried rice

Chicken with vegetables or almonds
Chicken roast
Fish fried
Chinese macaroni or spaghettis
Russian salad (or any other salad)

chicken biryani, how did u make those chicken skewers..did u bake them in the oven like that or then bake chicken and then put together on wooden skewers..

I was going to ask the same thing. Did you cook it and then put it on skewers.. how did you steam the veggies??
personally I thought it was too much variety. They had TONS of leftover food which is such a waste. I like to make 3-4 things max so everyone can enjoy the food rather than be over burdened by so many options.
typical dinner I would do something like:
butter chicken
karahi gosht
matar pulaao
daal dish
and even with that I had leftovers.
for tea I recently did:
cut fresh fruit / fruit salad
hummus
samosas
cookies and crackers to go with the tea
I find keeping a few things and simple stuff is best. Most of the folks tend to be on some sort of diet and don't like to eat a lot of oily fatty stuff.
