Re: The Lost war of Cultural and Social Values
People did complained when they just started showing couples sitting on same bed in 1990s PTV dramas. Karb (a 1990s drama directed by Samina Peerzada) was controversial in that sense. Star Plus didn’t get popularity back in dish antenna days in Pakistan, as they were showing extra marital affairs. Then came cable TV and Ekta Kappor ‘k’ series dramas, which were initially family oriented, social and family values (aadarsh) and people started watching them in Pakistan, but after 500+999 epiosdes these all dramas started revolving around extra marital affairs (A lady going to have relationship with her ex to have child to get bone marrow matching with child from same ex) and people kept on watching that. This is how our society accepted concepts which were more than taboo.
