Last year in June I took my parents to Canada. Drove from New York all the way to Toronto and further down to Kingston or something like that.
Over the period if 15 days, altogether I drove 3500+ miles going from Toronto down to Montreal to quebec (sp?) city … staying in between for the cruise of 1000 Islands… and coming back to NY via Montreal.
I know people who have driven all the way from east coast to west and then back to east
One day, I just want to get a RV and drive every single place I can think of
So, share your experiences of the longest drive you have done or were part of.
i love to drive and have the same wish to get RV or some thing and visit every single place on earth
last year I drove from west coast of australia(perth) to east coast(sydney) in my stallion
i even spent nights at the back seat
it was peak winter
and i was traveling alone
all aussie population live in few big cities and more then 90% land is empty
4500 kilometer / abt 2800 miles
took me 4 days
it was great fun
very smooth high way with no speed camera no man kind for many o many kilometers
nighboyring towns were at least 150 kilometer away from each other
no speed camers
and car like mine
my average speed was 160 km / 100 m per hour
i could go up to 260 km/h
and use to fell as if car is floating
highway so straight u can close ur eyes and drive for a while
no one overtaking u
no other car except u! u would see no cars for hours
that was fun
chonkry marr ke driving car with cruise control, lol
With gas prices rocketing up to the sky , a ghora gari will be a better alternative, plus you want to do such a thing on a low speed to soak in all the scenery.
Longest I drove was from Charlotte,NC to Rutherford , NJ.
the longest i drove was from Toronto->Montreal->Quebec->Nova Scotia->Maine->NY->Vermont->Toronto (don't remember all the stops i made). i had X5. it was fun but i was alone and it got boring after a while and i just wanted to get back home...this was done over a week and a half i think....
the longest nonstop drive i have had is from NY->IA...

we have gone from toronto to saskatoon and from saskatoon to calgary and then back to toronto in car.. took us 3+ days of continuous driving... well we stayed too .. but it was some long drive , i tell ya!
As far as I remember the longest drive I have done was from Vienna to Salzburg (via Hallstatt). I'd go nuts if I had to drive for more than 4 or 5 hours at a time.
Ji …I did not say Texas views were spectacular…even though Armadillo’s and sail Rabbits are a unique sight…I was refering to the views along the California Coast all along the Coastal Hiway…
I know, I was only saying that you don’t get to see one in Texas (esp going west from Dallas ). I went to CA-1 this summer and start heading south from SFO but had to return half-way because of wild-fires
