The lesser signs of the proximity of Qiyaamah mentioned by Rasulullah :saw: are:
Waqf wealth and property will be regarded as private property. Those People or trustees in charge of trust property and money will misuse these to suit their desires.
Zakaat will be considered a fine or penalty. Those upon whom Zakaat is obligatory will be reluctant to pay up the Zakaat for which they are liable.
The husband will be subservient to the wife. She will lead him and he will submit to her unlawful dictates.
People will disobey their mothers and regard their fathers as strangers while considering friends to be their close associates.
The Knowledge of Deen will be pursued and acquired to earn the world. Ilm-e-Deen will be acquired for motives other than the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. Such persons who are immoral, evil and the worst in character will assume the reigns of political power and government. Public and governmental leaders will be those smitten by greed and desire. They will be wholly unqualified for the posts they will be occupying.
People will praise and honour tyrants so as to be saved from their persecutions.
Alcohol will be consumed publicly.
Dancing and singing women will become rampant.
Musical instruments will be in abundance.
Ignorance of the Deen will increase greatly.
The Knowledge of the Deen will rapidly decrease.
Speaking lies will be regarded as a profession. The western courts of laws with their prosecutors, lawyers and advocates are classical examples of this prophesy.
Fornication will become rampant. Shame and modesty will be eliminated.
The control and domination of the Kuffaar will be established all over.
False ways and evil practices will be on the rise.
People will expand their businesses to such an extent that they will introduce their womenfolk into their business ventures to assist them.
Increase in natural disasters, e.g. earthquakes.
Maskh or disfiguring of human faces.
The female population will increase so much that a single man will be the overseer (seeing to the needs) of 50 women.
**THE GREATER SIGNS **
The advent of Hadhrat Imaam Mahdi (alayhis salaam).
The second advent or Nuzool (Descent) of Nabi Isa (alayhis salaam).
The emergence of Dajjal.
The emergence of Ya’jooj Ma’jooj.
The forty day fog.
The night of three nights.
The rising of the sun in the west.
The emergence of Daab-batul Ardh or the Reptile from the earth.
The Breeze.
The reign of Africans. These greater signs will now be explained in some detail.

Seems to me that it means that women will be as much a part of daily business and commerce as men are... much similar to what these days are called as "equal opportunity" employment.
Well, women had always played important roles from early stages of Islam. There are many instances where prominent women had been in the forefront of battlefield tending to the wounded and injured (nurses etc). Hazrat Khadija :ra: was a businesswoman.
However, what I understant on reading this particular statement seems more like that women’s participation in daily business world will be rampant and they will invited at all levels to “assist” men in running the businesses.
If you look from a 7th century Arabian culture, this concept would be a totally amazing concept for them as they may think its never possible. Women were deemed to have a place in home, to raise kids and take care of their husbands. But the present day situation of women is totally different, especially in cities and in western societies. So, this is basically a prediction that closer to the Day of Judgement, women will be involved in all kinds of business and commerce alongwith men. And if we look around us, it seems to be positively happening. Do you agree?
yes it is happening. The reason I asked for an expalanation is all of the signs for qayamat are things that are wrong…one is not supposed to do..and when bad things in the world will exceed the limit qayamaat will be here…
so, this would imply that women being out there and participating so actively is wrong…rite? :-s

This is a whole new debate on which, I am sure there are more questions than answers. I am sure, people more knowledgable than me will give you better answers.

I believe in the above, albeit in essence a thing or two may have been quoted in a different manner, thean what I’ve heard. But shame on u for trying to be sarcastic and attemptin to ridicule the quotations of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)

What if u know the references? Will it be appropriate to make people not read the right stuff [if for instance it is right] and lock when u can provide the correct reference being Mod of this forum? [unless u dun have the reference yourself ofcourse!]

It is the responsibility of the person posting anything from a source, to provide the appropriate reference. This is what the rule says. If some one else has the correct reference, they can provide it. In this particular case, I don't have any reference for this entire list. Do you?
