The iPhone5 Thread

Re: A trip to the Apple Store

iPhone 5 is selling for 110000 RS in Faisalabad and sold out. Selling like hot cakes here though.

Don't have much idea about North America.

Re: A trip to the Apple Store

I'm pretty sure its selling like hot cakes here too. I don't see why not there are a lot of loyal Apple fans and its a great phone.

Re: A trip to the Apple Store

You'll be surprised, a lot of my Apple fanatic friends who have iPhone 4S are NOT buying the 5. They're looking at the Nokia Lumia or Galaxy S3.

Re: A trip to the Apple Store

The market for smartphones will increase as new buyers enter into the market, but yes you are right Apple's iPhone 5 is selling like anything, as ComScore report says the FIRST THREE DAYS of online preorders for the iPhone 5 matched the earlier Apple record set by the iPhone 4S over the course of A MONTH, and given the fact that 4S sales were higher than any analyst's prediction...we can well see in how much volume iPhone 5 will be sold.

re: The iPhone5 Thread

I am eagerly awaiting delivery of my phone, as I had to work out some details re plan with my carrier company...:) Had detailed discussion with Technical Rep at my carrier company, he was himself Samsung S3 owner, but on battery issue I questioned him, and told him first hand experience of my friends with S3, he quipped..."the way both operating systems run,iPhone will have better battery life, without any question".... but I will post my own experience soon in the battery thread too..:)

re: The iPhone5 Thread

Good to know^^.

re: The iPhone5 Thread

It’s interesting that very minimal brand switch is taking place based on first three day’s pre-orders of iPhone5:

As expected huge chunk 63% of new iPhone5 owners will switch from iPhone 4S & 4 and 71% from all previous iPhones, while 29% from other brands…

Re: A trip to the Apple Store

Yep, I've heard lotsa people who had the 4S are not buying the 5.

re: The iPhone5 Thread

That goes to show loyalty to brand trumps other things.

re: The iPhone5 Thread

Yup, well not surprising.

re: The iPhone5 Thread

Yes..:) that's why these companies spend so much on retaining the "experience" aspects and it's very close to their heart, so as not to lose existing customer base. I recall my hubby saying the same for cars like "usually" BMW owner will go for BMW than switching to Audi...partly due to brand loyalty...though both are great car companies in their own right...:)

re: The iPhone5 Thread

Brand loyalty goes all the way down to Tide detergent. Even if the Tide leaves chunks of residue in their pockets, some people will die for Tide and not switch to a brand with less fillers just cuz they'd be the odd one out in their afternoon kitty party discussions. :D

re: The iPhone5 Thread

Its different for cars vs. phones. With electronics you'd have collected other accesories, connectors and iTunes account and stuff like that. Closer comparison would be SLR cameras. I have lenses and software and other stuff that kept in the Nikon camp, where I actually liked this one Canon model camera.

re: The iPhone5 Thread

Yeah exactly. I love a new Nikon camera body, but since I have spent alot on Canon lenses....I don't want to switch though I love Canon without any complaints....:)

re: The iPhone5 Thread

That makes a lot of sense and to be honest that's sort of why I never got into the whole apple club. I need everything apple to get my devices to work. I'm not saying I won't ever buy apply products because I have heard a lot of good things about apple laptops. InshAllah, in the future I plan to invest in one but at the moment I want to be free. :p

re: The iPhone5 Thread

lolz.. that's a bit too much brand loyalty.... :D

re: The iPhone5 Thread

^^ I was just trying to make a point :D

re: The iPhone5 Thread

Very true....we have collected Apple products in last few years specially MacBook Pro, iPad, iPod, iPhone, and seamless integration of iOS makes it easy to use one and move to other from where you left at other device.

It would be great if one day both Android and iOS can seamlessly integrate..:)

Re: A trip to the Apple Store

You sure they're selling like hot cakes and not like "garam aanday" :)
