So looks like we’ve got another aid organization. What’s your take on his efforts? Admirable surely, but is it trustworthy?

Imran Khan launches Pakistan floods appeal

Imran Khan, the cricketer-turned-politician, is launching his own emergency fundraising appeal for the victims of the devastating floods in Pakistan, pitting him directly against the government’s own efforts.

The Imran Khan Flood Relief organisation will seek to tackle both the immediate emergency and the long-term rehabilitation work required. “The government has totally collapsed, there’s no government here,” Khan told the Guardian. “The government’s efforts to raise money have totally failed because no one trusts the government.”

Khan will seek to mobilise thousands of Pakistanis behind his cause, to produce an army of volunteers to carry out the work. The floods have ravaged at least a fifth of the land mass of Pakistan and has hit 20 million people, with the waters continuing to envelop new areas.

The required funding to deal with the calamity has not been forthcoming, either domestically or internationally, and there has been bitter criticism of the Pakistani president, Asif Ali Zardari, for not visiting the flooded areas for several days.

imran has proven himself to be a great humanatarian with his various successful charity ventures within Pakistan in the past. i am sure he has the resources to get the help out to the needy, if anyone is to be trusted than its him and his organization.

Much more trustworthy than those in power right now. I'd say I place 100% of my trust in that he delivers contributions to those that deserve it, his hospital and college are reflective of his honest work, and genuine desire to help the people of Pakistan. Its high time people give him credit for his tireless efforts to improve a collapsing nation. I'd highly recommend that those hesitant to donate to the government that they donate here.

The flood victims are in high need of help, however, Zardari an already poor choice of a President minimized the catastrophe by continuing his tour in Europe, he was very careless in the fact that he failed to address it in a time sensitive frame, and failed to appear to make any effort to bring this emergency to international awareness, and his famous corruptions allegations are really hindering international relief efforts to a very deserving population. May Allah accept their prayers and help all those in need right now.

There should be no doubt on Imran Khan's trustworthiness. He is one of the most trustworthy social workers in Pakistan, its only the politics where he spoils his image.

I know someone whose relative got admitted to Shaukat Khanum hostpital. Although the person died of cancer, his family was very thankful to the hospital administration for providing such facilities for free.
They only charge from people who can afford to pay, the rest get everything for free. All patients, paying or non-paying are treated in the same manner with same facilities.

So if anyone is thinking of donating to Shaukat Khanum, I would say 'ankhein band kar ke de do'.

It does seem legit (with all the appropriate documentation links etc.)…

There is no proof that this belongs to anyone related to Imran Khan’s organization. Anyone can make a blog on Wordpress with any name.
I would say avoid it unless Imran Khan or someone from his organization endorses the blog.

Yeah, the wordpress URL was my initial concern as well.

There is no proof that this belongs to anyone related to Imran Khan's organization. Anyone can make a blog on Wordpress with any name. I would say avoid it unless Imran Khan or someone from his organization endorses the blog.

PTI middle east sponsored mobile kitchen reaches Khan Garh to serve around 4000 People

Muzzaffargarh / Khan Garh: The first relief tent kitchen of sponsored by PTI Middle East and its sub chapters (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and UAE) is busy to serve Muzaffargarh flood affectees under the supervision of Mr.Nadeem, PTI middle east cordinator.

Furthermore, he manages to send one more small kitchen to the Khan garh where people were severly affected by flood. This kitchen will serve around 4000 homeless people who are desperatley looking for help. Their houses has been destroyed and they don’t have any food to eat.

Due to the understanding of worst flood situation in MuzzaffarGarh and surrounding areas, Mr.Nadeem decided to stay longer in the region and planning to arrange more kitchen in other areas of Muzzaffargarh.

Imran Khan visits Nowshera Kala and relief goods distributed

August 12,2010

Peshawar : PTI Chairman Imran Khan visited Nowshera Kalan and distributed relief items among the thousands of flood victims. Chairman accompanied by eight truck load of relief items including essential comodities, PTI Leadership from KP, Rawalpindi and Islamabad escorted Chairman in the greater mission to serve flood victims.

Chairman also paid visit to medical camp in Nowshera Kala by Insaf Doctor’s forum where Dr Ali Haidar (Spokesperson Welfare KP and In-charge Relief cell) about the relief activities carried out by Insaf Welfare Wing KP and its umbrella organizations (Insaf Doctor’s Forum and Imran Khan Welfare Organization) in flood-hit areas of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. Furthermore, Chairman strictly directed PTI leadership to stay shoulder by shoulder with flood hit population.

I agree with you totally, I know a lady who was treated in shaukat khanam , they never charged her a penny and treated her as human.
