Iran pretty much owns that area and the british “royale” marines know that.. One bad step and few more of them will get kidnapped! 
.. Or perhaps it is part of the western propaganda to get support for an Iran war like the “uranium cakes” iraq was receiving from Niger. I seriously pity the british as they will badly sandwich themselves between the guards / iranis and the shiite militias like moqtada / badr. Tony Blair was such an idiot!
