Absolved? Because they had something to do with your friends’ weakness of mind, marriage and faith. People who are like this are usually looking for a scapegoat, someone they can blame for their weaknesses so they don’t have to take responsibility for their actions.

So damn pathetic. And weak.

Certainly they had the responsibility to choose sane people to hangout with. That’s why they rue the day.
