Re: The Hypocrisy of Chief Justice Chaudhary
Shriek 11,
You are forgetting one thing. Ex CJ Sajjad Ali Shah was picked by BB ignoring seniority of the judges where as NS at that time was staunch opponent of BB. Ex CJ should have enough intelligence that if he challenged NS who was elected of course with the heavy mandate with the help of ISI, could bully him. He appealed military head at that time about this 'ghunda gardi' but nothing happened. Another mistake he committed was he gave judgment against his benefactor BB whose government was ousted my military illegally. He reaped what he sowed, though I am sorry for his disgraced departure from CJ seat.
Are you saying that ex-CJ Sajjad Ali Shah brought everything upon himself i.e. justifying Nawaz Sharif's attack on the Supreme Court?
Re: The Hypocrisy of Chief Justice Chaudhary
^Yes.

So I see, you are trying to justify Gunja's act because he had heavy mandate [though you say it was rigged so how is it "heavy mandate" then?].
Then you wonder why I, among other people, are so politically dejected and aren't willing to fall for the same PPP / PML game again?
PS As for those you know whom, failing to accept gunja's ethnic politics doesn't make it go away. It actually proves the reasons why many educated pakistanis have left Pakistan! :) It proves what kind of people we get on this site. At least, on 3-4 other sites we get sensible punjabis that you can your fellow pakistanis unlike on this site.
Re: The Hypocrisy of Chief Justice Chaudhary
** OMG!!!**
**THAT JUST DOES IT!
All checks and balances and blah blah these people has been exposed. I wonder where the rest of the site is!!!

What Ethnic politics are you talking about? MQM racists think everything is race related.
Re: The Hypocrisy of Chief Justice Chaudhary
^Yes.
My God here you are condeming the present actions against the judiciary, yet you are justifying Nawaz Sharif's storming of the Supreme Court, and forcing the ouster of CJ Sajjad Ali Shah!

You can't see past your mouhajir hate filled brain. I have seen your internal hatred for mouhajirs when you were unwilling to accept any bad things had been even done by feds [gunja, BB etc.] to karachi!
God Bless Sajjad Ali Shah for standing to BB and Gunja and not backing down under pressure when Gunja bullied him by using punjabi judges on the courts! :)

KARACHI: CM okays withdrawal of cases against MQM
By Tahir Siddiqui
KARACHI, Nov 2: The chief minister of Sindh, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, has approved the withdrawal of over 1,300 criminal cases against leaders and workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
Well-placed sources told Dawn on Friday that the review board, formed by the Sindh government under the National Reconciliation Ordinance on Oct 9, had recommended the withdrawal of the cases after close scrutiny. These included 1,280 cases in Karachi, 40 from Mirpurkhas and 10 from Hyderabad.
They further explained that the review board, headed by Justice (Retd) Dr Ghaus Mohammed and comprising Sindh Law Secretary Ghulam Nabi and Advocate-General Khwaja Naveed as members, was still in the process of examining another 1,500 cases that might be recommended to the CM for withdrawal.
Reportedly, several of the cases approved for withdrawal involved leaders of the MQM, including its self-exiled chief Altaf Hussain who was declared an absconding accused in the highly-publicised murder case of former KESC chief Shahid Hamid.
Under Sub-section 3 of Section 2 of the National Reconciliation Ordinance, the review board is empowered to review the entire record of the cases pending against any person, including an absconding accused who is found to have been falsely involved for political reasons or through political victimisation.
As envisaged in the NRO, the board may review any case initiated between Jan 1, 1986 and Oct 12, 1999, and furnish recommendations to the government of Sindh regarding their withdrawal from prosecution or otherwise.
Re: The Hypocrisy of Chief Justice Chaudhary
I am saying from day one...This CJ is a political drama. I hope Musharraf keeps this corrupt person in jail to rot forever.
Re: The Hypocrisy of Chief Justice Chaudhary
RP and Shriek 11,
I am not justifying NS ghunda gardi on ex CJ. Please read my post again where I have mentioned the reason for attack. Ex CJ Sajjad Hussain Shah, belonging to minority province, was all alone in the jungle with no support from his collegues and lawyers, not even from MQM. He should have thought first before running corruption cases against NS in the court who at that time was flying in the air due to so called heavy mendate. Ex CJ could have acted wisely by not dealing directly. Had I been a CJ in his place, I would have formed the panel of judges to deal with this ugly situation, without direct involvement. On the other hand present CJ Iftekhar Hussain has plenty of support not only from his collegues, but lawyers, political parties and above all support of common people. Thats why Mush had to resort to PCO to remove him second time. Farq Saaf Zahir hay.
I think you guys are intelligent enough to understand what I am saying.

What happened to the EX CJ?
Re: The Hypocrisy of Chief Justice Chaudhary
I was not a fan of the Chief Justice before.
But he and his family suffered untolerably during the last months and I now have a more favourable view of him.
But the issue of judges ehtesab must be still be addressed.
That is why I believe that the Chief Justice should offer the parliament to independtely investigate any allegations against him.
That will be easier to try Musharraf before the parliament as well.

Mush cannot. The one-man show is over. CJ Ifti might not be a saint but no civilised person should approve of the inhumane way he and his family have been treated over the last 5 months (daughter being forced to sit O levels at home, not being allowed to use the veranda and lawns of his own house, being completely cut-off from outside world) by Mush and his henchmen. In case you have fogotten CJP administers oath to the president of the country

Nope people are talking about NS here.

Well you are right, he was an Ex-CJ .... I agree, even Ifti like VVIP criminals should be given some due respect... And atleast his daughter should have been allowed to go out and take her exams.

Yes, were there is rule of law. Hopefully, Mushrraf's family wont be locked up for months, and he will be given fair trial for his crimes against the nation.
