2: SC is not bound by the law to issue full judgments. Even a verbal order to restore CJ would have the same affect as a full judgment.
Exactly. BTW, I was reading that martial law declaration was written by army advocate general, and not by the AG. So army advocate general is above the SC.
What do you expect from supporters of dictators… They clutch like mad at whatever little straw they get because they have so few straws to clutch at!
They might aswell try to Justify the dictatorial rule fo Stalin.. Might even be easier then defending Mushu…
Whose dictatorship stopped parliament investigating the charges of nepotism, corruption and abuse of power by the Chief Justice?
In the United States high officials like can be impeached by Congress.
Is this not the case in Pakistan?
Musharraf filed the reference following the law, SC bench reviewed it and they threw it out. Next step should've been a "Supreme Judicial Council" which involves more than SC judges, or parliament should've grilled CJ on that as you suggested but when a dictator is in power law is not always followed. He instead would like to kick out what he cannot figure out or does not tow his line and implant "Yes sir" so he can do what he wants.
I am not too sure about Parliament interviewing/investigating the CJ but if the law didn't have that provision then it must've been done to probe that. But guess what, CJ did all the nepotism he wanted, all the corruption he wanted but he only got challenged when he started to go against the dictator.

Exactly... Democracy for Musharaf is only worth it as long as it conforms to his distorted version of what a democracy is... As soon as the heat was turned up, he went from being a sound beleiver in democracy to sound follower of Hypocracy...
And Mushrafs tolerance for corruption is clear to see, the Chaudry's are infamouse.. So why the sudden noble urge to purge the Judiciary of corruption when everyone else is goiong scot free?!?!

Bhaijan, no need to worry. You said he will only last a day after the elections. Elections are approaching soon. So, you should be rejoicing. Unless ofcourse you have a doubt about Great President Musharaf's demise. Are you having any doubts? :)
Reza Bhai… Im glad you have something to laugh at… But bottom line is this.. Mush is a dictator and he is abusing the rights of the people… He has defamed the country internationaly in every way… How long do you honestly think this dictator is going to last? The only way now is to use the police, Army, and other Chmachas, to beat people senselss or even to death.
Honestly, if you had been alive during the time of Nero, you would have danced and laughed alongside him as Rome was burning…
Which goes to show that the Supreme Court judges used the law in their own (colleague) favor, but again it was still within the laws, no? Does it not show weakness of the law? and what does Musharraf do, sack the whole supreme court instead of modifying law to make judges accountable to nation, and we have people support Musharraf wah wah.
Maybe he should have a taken a lesson from nawaz sharif though I don't know if he could play the ethnicity card unlike Gunja.. :)

stop daydreaming, no matter how creepy that ganja was, he never played the ethnicity card unlike altaf etc... infact, he made grand alliances (and later got rid of them) with two 'ethnic based' party whose only votebase is by gaining sympathy from their ethnic lines, including mqm...

It is also quite ironic that the Storm Trooper of the Supreme Court - Nawaz Sharif is now the lead champion of a free judiciary. If the ex-CJ's supporters take comfort from these kind of people, then they are really devoid of any principles.
i WONDER where Spock is now talking about ethnic politics when his idol Gunja is mentioned?
Funny thing is that all these so-called brave munir maliks and kurd [couldn’t win in kurdistan so dropped himself in pakistan] had no shame and/or guts to stand up for Sajjad Ali Shah who was pushed aside by Gunja because Gunja was being investigated for corruption.
I still give hats off to Sajjad Ali shah for his principles!
You are forgetting one thing. Ex CJ Sajjad Ali Shah was picked by BB ignoring seniority of the judges where as NS at that time was staunch opponent of BB. Ex CJ should have enough intelligence that if he challenged NS who was elected of course with the heavy mandate with the help of ISI, could bully him. He appealed military head at that time about this 'ghunda gardi' but nothing happened. Another mistake he committed was he gave judgment against his benefactor BB whose government was ousted my military illegally. He reaped what he sowed, though I am sorry for his disgraced departure from CJ seat.

The Judiciary is just humoring NS. They have seen him in action.
