Being a Hindu, and an India, I’m somewhat perplexed by this stance. It’s idiotic to believe Hindu’s don’t get a divorce, or will never want to. Does anyone, in Pakistan, know why this stance is being taken?
Re: The Hindu Marriage Act
I guess some of the Hindus in Pakistan are as weird as some of the Muslims... :)

Re: The Hindu Marriage Act
I guess when you mix up religion with state governance.. every religionist starts demanding the state to follow his understanding of religion..
In such societies it's not necessary that only the majority makes such demands..
The best solution is not to make hindu marriage, muslim marriage, christian marriage, black goat cult marriage acts in a society on the basis of religion.. but these laws should be made to protect the rights of people without bringing religious orientations..
Re: The Hindu Marriage Act
I agree with the general sentiment in this thread that theocracies are bad and Pakistanis sometime come up with the craziest theories.
Re: The Hindu Marriage Act
It is a fact that in Hindu scriptures there is no concept of divorce in marriages. However, with the change of time and situations amendments, alterations and revisions are always welcomed in any system. The only thing that is constantan in the universe is ‘change’. There were several vogue traditions that were prevalent in Hindus like ‘Sati’ and child marriage that are abolished by the society. In India, a majority Hindu nations, divorces are very prevalent so why it should be denied anywhere else?
Re: The Hindu Marriage Act
