A Halal logo at a restaurant or grocery item is always enough for me. Some of my more molvi cousins would start interviewing the guy at the pizza place..‘where’d you get the chicken’, ‘how did you prepare the chicken’, etc. As long as a Muslim tells you it’s halal, it’s halal for you.

If you are shopping are at a grocery store which isn’t owned by Muslims, then that halal symbol does no good for you because for the meat to be halal it has to be slaughtered by a Muslim and has to stay under Muslim supervision at all times. If the meat was slaughtered by a Muslims but then a non-muslims delivers it or sells it, that meat isn’t halal anymore because it lacked Muslim supervision.
