The Greatest President

Re: The Greatest President

I took Economics 101. I don’t recall, changing of oil transactions being changed from one standard currency unit to another having any momumental adverse effect on the replaced currency (not that is likely to happen). Maybe I should have gone to BMCC with you and abdali. :frowning:

Re: The Greatest President

UTD you are looking at it the thread from a very short term perspective. My thread was meant to be (and I should start spelling it out from now on) 50 yrs down the road.
Think long term UTD not the usual short term that we Americans have been used to. Once the seeds of democracy are implanted it will take years till fruition but the fruit will be juicy and delicious enough to deem the implanter (Bush) as the greatest.

Mind you I ain't gettin' any money from White House like the talk show hosts did. I did not vote for him nor do I like him. But leaving all prejudices aside and looking at ME 50 years from now on what he has planted I wondered.

Re: The Greatest President

remind me.. isn’t this “seed of democracy” the reason we give the beggars in Israel $3b a year and undocumented millions and billions in arms and other writeoffs? It has been over 50 years and we’ve yet to see these “seeds of democracy” bear any fruit in the Middle East where Israel was supposed to be such a “beacon for democracy”.

In the end, we had to spend our tax dollars and the lives of American kids all over again to invade and plant another seed in Iraq.

So can we have a refund from Israel since it never delivered?

Re: The Greatest President

^^ the thread is the greatest president not bashing Israel. But since you insist. The same $ amt goes to Hosni and look at him? I think Israel gets the dough to keep out of other Islamic countires otherwise star of divid wouldbe flying from the med to the shat-al-arab.

Re: The Greatest President

I don’t decide the topic.. you do..

You think the claim to fame for Dubya is “spreading democracy” in the Middle East.. well there u have it.. we’ve thrown money down the drain supportying tyrants like Husni and feeding ingrates like Israel that spy back on us and sell that info for a profit to our enemies…

yet.. still no peace in the Middle East and no democracy either..

so what else do u have that your darling President has achieved?

Re: The Greatest President

so you are naysayers nada wrong with it.

Re: The Greatest President

I am a registered Democrat, and I think that William Jefferson Clinton was the greatest president of the United States and most important leader of the 20th century. President George Walker Bush is the greatest president of the 21st century.

Brother Verizon, these Jihadis will never understand the concept of electoral representation and people rule.

Re: The Greatest President

Euro shmuro, the EU will not be able to succeed in the long run versus the United States. First they expanded too quickly adding all sorts of Eastern European nations and now even thinking about adding Turkey. The reason for this expansion is to get a larger single market capable of competing with United States. The problem though, is there will never be the type of unity in the EU the way there is between the states of the United States.

The civil war was a long gone issue and nothing like that would happen again here. However EU, could always be manipulated by the U.S. by playing to New Europe vs. Old Europe and thereby create more disunity. Bottom line is that EU will never be as powerful as the U.S. of A!!!!

Re: The Greatest President

^ so you are calling UTD and PA as jahadis? They are the one who seems to be arguing with verizon on this topic. I thought that UTD was the last person on earth to be called a jihadi.

Re: The Greatest President

Very optimistic eh? you need to go and tell you optimistic veiw about US economy to American economist who are craping in their pants due to stronger euro. When did the last time you check $ verses € rates. it’s called hiding your head in sand.

Re: The Greatest President

Well like I said before Iran was more on it’s way to reform before the axis of evil comment than afterwards.

The energy needs of U.S., China, and India will likely dictate what happens to the Mideast. And with the possibility of wars waged over water resources that just adds another dynamic to the scenario.

Re: The Greatest President

Agent Smith--You're right that Euro is higher than the dollar, but that does not mean anything. One Bahrain dinar = $2.65. Does that mean that Americans are crapping in their pants due to strong Bahrain dinar?? In fact, a weaker dollar vs. the Euro is good for America against Europe. It favors the trade balance for America (i.e. more exports for America). This is all part of the plan to keep the EU in its place.

On top of this, the Europeans on average are much more morally loose, irreligious, lazy, work less hours, take more vacation and drink more alcohol than Americans. The Americans already saved Europe twice in two World Wars and built up their economy for them. How are students going to overpower the Teacher (the U.S. of A!!!) economically or otherwise?

Re: The Greatest President

Who’s not dabbling in the jihadic lifestyle? Watch the trend closely though, they keep telling me pink is the new black, I’m not buying it though but V-necks are here through summer, bank on that.

Re: The Greatest President

"If you think that International transaction in € won't effect US economy then you need to go back and take economics 101 from Borough of Manhattan Community College."

Yer a nitwit. It's called hedging. Any large multinational corporation, government, bank or airline could call up and hedge a billion dollars against the Euro and have the transaction done within a minute. Don't forget that the dollar drop, as it is doing now makes oil more expensive, but it makes US goods far more competitive, and crucifies the Europeans and the Japanese. Germanys 12% unemployment is far more important than the pricing of Oil in one currency or another. The magic of derivative liquidity and efficient transactions makes your grand plan for disaster rather moot.

From an economic standpoint everything that should have be done to stimulate the economy has been done. Bush avoided a rather unpleasant economic whiplash. And while we are at it, perhaps we should stop worrying about who the best president is, and figure out who the best Federal Reserve Chief is!. I say Voelker sucked, and that in the end may be more important than the president.

Re: The Greatest President

Haroon, America has the highest morbidly obese rate in the world. So who is lazy?

"How are students going to overpower the Teacher (the U.S. of A!!!) economically or otherwise?"

You don't have to go too far to get the answer for that. Have you heard in the news recently thet SBC is going to buy AT&T? In case if you don't know AT&T was the parent company of SBC. How did it happen? don't ask me. Anything is possible.

Re: The Greatest President

^ :hehe: Why didn;t you just post something from www.italianwarheroes.com

You have go to be kidding me. For a second there I got excited that “hey here is a guy who might actually want to talk about economics and finance”…but alas..another hack. :frowning:

Re: The Greatest President

Shouldn't this thread be in Jokes forum!?

Re: The Greatest President

Agent Smith--Americans are fat no denying it. Fat and Rich... and they may eat the amount required by two men. They may not walk and run as much as Europeans. But, Americans are workaholics. They will take their fat 300 lb body and work 65 hrs/week, while the European will work 35 hrs/week, walk around town, smoke some cigarettes and is thinner but lazier when it comes to productivity.

Re: The Greatest President

for those who are giddy at the thought of a weaker dollar cuz of 'cheaper' exports.. that all plays well only if you have a trade surplus against these countries..

our imports are five times our exports to China.. guess who benefits from a stronger Yuan.

Re: The Greatest President

Haroon, Americans are workaholics because they are all in debt. Average household debt in America was around $ 18,000 in 2003. Believe me, they don’t work hard for the reason you have given. Europeans may work 35 hours a week but they are debt free. So who is smart?
