Somewhere in between stepping out of my house to walk to the bus stop and boarding the school bus yesterday morning, a series of thoughts were dancing throughout my fresh, young mind. I had an epiphany - one that I would like to share with you all.
I was thinking about some of the Muslims at our Musjid that have converted to Islam, all of them on their own. I find it amazing that amidst all of the negativity towards Islam in the recent world, these people were open-minded enough to accept the religion. Yes, it is definate that these people have been swayed by the guidance of Allah (swt).
However, I noticed that in the community, the ones that have converted to Islam are usually the lot that are more involved in Islam and the Muslim community. (In fact, one night at the Musjid when we were doing Tiraavi, I noticed that after 8 were complete, most of the people began to leave, since that is the number the Prophet (pbuh) normally chose to do. The thing that made me smile was that the last 5 or 6 people that were still standing to complete all 20, were all converts).
This led me to realize how much we, being born in Muslim families (Alhumdulillah), take our own religion for granted. The vast majority of humans in the world are not born in Muslim families. We are all very lucky to have a Muslim family (and friends) to help us attain the goal we are set here on Earth for: to obey the commandments of Allah(swt). We’ve practically been handed the gift of Islam in a pretty little box wrapped with silk lining.
A Muslim should NOT feel it a “burden” to be born into a Muslim family, because Allah(swt) is said to forgive the non-Muslims that have not been preached the right way. Being a Muslim benefits us in more than one way. The life of a true Muslim is much more pure and happier here on Earth, and it will also benefit us on the Day of Judgement.
I’d just like to say that I am VERY thankful that I am a Muslim, and have been shown the right path since the day I was born.Allah Hu Akbar
Shikra - The thread does not arise any direct questions to be discussed. The last two sentences of the post clearly show that it is only a personal plea. I am simply rambling about my religious beliefs.
My expert Mod instincts tell me that it is to stay in the Cafe
Yes, to practice it is a different story, which is the point I was discussing the ENTIRE TIME. I stated that we should not take this for granted (therefore, we should practice the religion)
