There's a fine distinction between Cafe and AllViews, just as there was a distinction between Cafe and General.
AllViews is the new General, and it is to cater general discussions which are not specific to any one forum. AllViews is different from Cafe in the sense that AllViews sees the discussion of some of the more serious topics that lead to more serious discussion(s). Cafe still has its own flavor and category, and nothing beats it.
I hope that helps make clear the broad difference between the two.

regardless of the debate whether All Views is the right name, it is clear that General was also not the right name for this forum. General was started as a Misc forum I suppose, means when it does not fit anywhere else, put it in General.
General evolved as a different forum than a misc forum, thus name change was a logical step.
If members feel that All views also does not justify as the name, you guys can always put your suggestions forward

good news pai/payn jee, i really cant read your purple punjabi with random smilies. this is one of the reasons why i try hard not to open cafe threads.
as for cave, no, i was banned by X2 at anwar qureshi's sifaarish for a year or so. but thats another story.
renaming General as All Views does not seem to make it sound any less ambiguous in my opinion. in fact it is misleading. "All Views" seems to indicate you can post on any topic on there, but its a forum for topics that dont fit into other forums.
