The Game of Thrones

Re: The Game of Thrones

I just started waching it (on episode 4) and I think this show is absolutely brilliant. I just want to know whether I should read the books first before I continue watching? I hate watching adapted shows or movies without having read the books (they usually leave out a lot of details).

Re: The Game of Thrones

NO ONE???

I just finished watching it, best tv show evarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to find the books here in Pak...

Re: The Game of Thrones

The moment I saw the trailers, knew this would be an amazing show....with Sean Bean, how can it not. Can't wait to burn my CD and watch it :D

Re: The Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones got 13 nominations but no nomination for Sean Bean?!! What a farce.

Re: The Game of Thrones

Peter Dinklage got the nomination and a well deserved one!!!

Re: The Game of Thrones

This is a really faithful and brilliant adaptation of the books.

BTW just finished reading the latest book of the series "Dance with the Dragons".

Awful cliffhanger ending .. Now wait for 10 more years for the next book :(

Re: The Game of Thrones

I've watched the first couple episodes and I am now reading the first book. Surprised by how close the tv adaptation is to the book itself. Most of the lines are the same.

NOBODY GIVE AWAY ANYTHING!

Re: The Game of Thrones

Can't wait for 2012 and the second season, on another note just finishing up book 4 and man oh man it's just fantastic.

Tyrion is the bestest character, seriously forget Sean Bean Peen

Right, I gots a dilemma now. Do I read the next book and spoil it, or do I wait it out??

Re: The Game of Thrones

OOh I'm so thrilled to find a GOT post here.

I've watched the show and read all the books. The series only gets better and better. My only problem is keeping track of all the characters!

Re: The Game of Thrones

Simpsons did a GOT parody for the opening lolz

Générique Simpsons : parodie de Game of Thrones

Re: The Game of Thrones

^:D

Re: The Game of Thrones

I don’t know how you could wait. I would read the books, without question.

:hehe:

Re: The Game of Thrones

Yep. Besides books are much better than the tv series.

Re: The Game of Thrones

I just re-watched the whole season 1 again and man oh man the adaptation had been amazing
I have also just re-read the Clash of Kings so that I can pay more attention to it while watching

So any one who has read the books which scenes you can't wait to watch for me it's the red wedding and the blackwater war

Re: The Game of Thrones

and yeah

Let the countdown begin

16 days to go

Re: The Game of Thrones

I've read all the 5 books and I feel I can appreciate the TV show more because of this. The books are very very long, but GRRM's writing is just fabulous. His characters are sooo multifaceted. I find myself hating someone in a book and having a crush on the very same guy a few chapters down! On the flip side, there is no element of suspense while watching the tv show because you know where the story is headed.

Re: The Game of Thrones

Hmm is the red wedding going to be shown in this season? Doesn't it occur in ASOS, not ACOK?

Re: The Game of Thrones

That's why I like it when they change something in the series or add something which was not in the book because it makes it so interesting. I heard the GRRM is himself writing the episode of Blackwater fight so that would be great.
Personally I am always interested in watching movies after reading books so that I can analyze how close the adaptation had been and by far a big thumbs up to GOT for being true to the books

Re: The Game of Thrones

I was reading one of the discussion boards where they mentioned that they are going to show some ASOS in the last episode as a cliff hanger. Remember they did the same thing in the last season also where they had shown Arya's escape and start of journey while it was still a part of ACOK.
