Well has it released? is it 10% good as the book? well well well?

A friend of mine a few years ago tried to get me to read the books but I didn't have much time to go thru them, although I'm obsessive about fantasy books. I'm debating on whether I should read the books b4 the movie or wait until after I see it...hmmm someone help?

I think it is released... I saw its name in one of the theatres bill boards. Not sure tho.
Personally, after seeing its trailer in Ocean's 11, I won't be watching it. Too much violence.

I am definitely going to read the books before watching the movie.
I saw it yesterday - although a BIT gory at places, I really liked it a lot.

For those who haven’t watched it and read the trilogy yet, definitely read the books before going to watch it! I badly wish I had read the series, I think it would have been much more interesting that way. 
This movie made my year. I tell you a great movie after such a long time.

I loved the picturization and breath taking sceneries. A must watch movie. i should have read the book before watching it too.

after watching the lord of the rings, every other movie seems dull, they should release the second and third part very soon, I cant wait till next christmas for the rest
