I don’t know much about historical issues but If this is true, then could it resolve a lot of political issues between sunnis and shias? I suspect a lot of twists were added to Islamic history to suit the writers own perspectives and it takes a lot of research to dig out what actually happened.

Almost all of us are either Sunni or Shia because we were born to Sunni or Shia parents. When you grow up in such surroundings, I don’t think discussions like this would ever be of much help. People are developing survival environments for a human society at Mars and we are stuck with naming conventions.

I cudnt agree more… if we really want guidence for someone… online forums is not the place for it… I would rather request smooth guy, ibne siddique and rest to pray 2 rakat nafal and pray that Allah guide me on right path… and if they request I shall do the same in return… this is a much better than spensing hours here and not have anyone agree with u even on a single issue… so I try to stay away from these arguments but somehow manage to get myself here again and again…however I am seeing progress and I am not as active as I was.
