Jews have been looking to re-establish their nation ever since they were kicked out. There was a very strong movement and Jewish immigration way before WWII. Jews feel they need Israel because God promised the land to Abraham’s descendents thousands of years before the advent of Islam. According to God, Israel actually owns everything from the Euphrates to the Nile, so we ought to be pleased they are content with the little strip of land they now occupy.
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
Now would you give me your home if I said the whole earth is allah's land and I am his follower.
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
something similar did happen when pakistan was created, pal.
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
how? Did we import all the people from arabia and persia, not to forget Turkey and CARs, to bangladesh and pakistan and said, “Look, we demand a country for our population”.
I, for one, didn’t expect a southern indian to have this kind of bs thinking but I guess old hindu habits die hard.. ![]()
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
no but 10 million people moved from the land of their ancestors, many to new cultures, never to even speak the same language again. one million died. hindu habits or muslim habits, truth remains the same. UPwalay aren't sindhis. just like jews arent palestinians.
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
They moved to their co-religious majority counterparts.
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
maybe the palestinians can do the same too. move to some of their "their co-religious majority counterparts".
doesn't sound so nice now does it.
anyway, i don't think israel has a right on palestinian land.
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
But there was an exchange of populatoin.. whic err.. I don't see happening in this place..
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
so it would ease the homelessness of palestinians if an equal amount of jews lost their homes too?
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
Now would you give me your home if I said the whole earth is allah's land and I am his follower.
There are over 50 countries for you to choose from. Don't be so greedy. Even the Jews who get accused all the time of greed are only asking for one tiny country.
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic
I don't think the movement of so many Jews to Palestine is the biggest issue. The problem is their refusal to let refugees return to their homes after the 1948 conflict ended.
Was there no way to make Israel without massive ethnic cleansing and racial purification of the land?
Re: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad - President of Islamic Republic

No... The Palestinaians would simply take back the homes they were forced too vacate in the first place.

the ethnic cleaning you speak off happened only when the 5 arab countries invaded israel and manage to lose the war
when israeli army advanced, the palestinians fled in panic along with the retreating arab armies
this has happened time and time again in many wars such was world war II where ethnic germans fled east prussia when the soviets were coming, or in koreans fleaing the north korean army or south vietnamese fleeing the on coming north vietnamese army

they weren't forced to vacate
they fled on their own after the arab armies started losing the war to israel in 1948
most jews who moved to palestine before 1948 settled mostly in tel aviv
they never expanded to areas which had a palestinian majority
thats why the palestinian refugees started in 1948 because they fled their homes once the arab armies started to lose the war to israel

The fact that ethnic cleansing happened after a war was lost does not make it right - ethnic cleansing is simply never right, regardless of whether it happens after a war is won or lost. If Iraq had won the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s, would it have been right if Saddam had "cleansed" Iran of Persian peoples?
The actions of the 5 surrounding countries is not at issue. The issue is that civilian refugees from a conflict are supposed to be allowed to return to their homes once that conflict is over. Palestinians who fled the conflict resulting from the egyption, syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese and Iraqi attack on Israel were not permitted to return once the fighting was over. This effected constituted ethnic cleansing.
In the case of the Koreans who fled the North Koreans, they don't want to go back because North Korea is still controlled by the communists they fled from.
The South Vietnamese who fled the NVA have now been allowed to return (although for the first few decades after the North Vietnamese victory, returning south vietnamese were subject to several years in "re-education" camps).
Ethnic Germans were forced out of eastern lands; another historical injustice but once which the germans had to bear for their collective collaboration with the Nazi regime's crimes.
Re: The Establishment of Israel [split from: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad]
This was not true for all since it is documented in british palestine when israeli terrorist groups [under the protege of David ben Gurian] attacked civilians. I think the syrian foreign minister shut the westerns up two years ago when he presented proof of it when the westerners accused syria of supporting terrorists…
In the middle east, it looks terrorists beget terrorists.. ![]()

So good that you are finally acknowledging what I have been saying all along that a 30,000 man Israeli army fighting 100,000 Arab army could not have kicked 500,000 Palestinians at the barrel of the gun and they fled like many other civilians in wars have fled due to fear of the oncoming enemy forces.
As for their right of return. That is no longer feasible.
The only palestinians clinging are the ones who were not integrated into Arab countries after the war. Only Jordan was the only country which gave full citizenships to Palestinians.
The rest of the arab countries deliberately keep them in squallor so as to prolong the conflict with Israel.
As they know Israel will never except the right of return as it will make Jews a minority in Israel.
So its a non-issue
Thats like Pakistan accepting 200 million Hindus wanting to come back to their homes that they fled during the partition.
Re: The Establishment of Israel [split from: Mahmoud Ahmedi Nejad]
200 million hindus? ![]()
You have really outdone it this time..

Why is it not feasible? The international community has encouraged and helped the return of Bosnian, Croat and Serb refugees from the Yugoslav war to areas they fled, sending a strong message to the autonomous regions of Bosnia-Hercegovina that the ethnic cleansing that created their autonomous entities will not be allowed to have a permanent effect.
Why should such a message not be applied in the Middle East?

See the problems the world has when people listen to God?
In any case, what's done is done. It's unrealistic to expect the Israelis to move out of Palestine, plus they're doing a much better job with the land than the Arabs were. They got what they got by fighting for it, if the Arabs wanted it that bad, they should have fought harder.
