I personally think waxing is alot better but epilators are good for when your in a hurry or just need to clean some of the hairs left behind after waxing.
like some of the other gals here, i dont get ingrowns when using underarms but do nearly everywhere else ... i do exfoliate and that does lessen them ... but overall they dont go away ...
overalll .. i think waxing lasts longer and works better at getting ur hair lighter i.e. less hair growing back.
which specific braun or phillips epilator do you girls have? which would your recommend I buy?
i have phillips satinelle soft HP6407..really good 4 underarms..once u wax 1st hten use this every1/2 weeks after..its perfect...all other areas its good 2 except that im gettin quite a few ingrown hairs nd i have 2 exfoliate ALL the time 2 keep them at bay...if i dont exfoliate for a couple of dayz i get lots ingrowns..especailly where hair is really fine like upper arms and thighs.
has anyone tried using the epilator on the stomach area? Or the bikini line? How effectively does it work. Is the feeling of pain different from using it on the arms and legs?

I really need to know.
Thanks girls
iv tried it on bikin line..yes its a different type of pain..actually its not as painful as thigh and other areas where hair is finer and more numerous..didnt hurt that much..but i did get ingrown hair just fter 1st epilation...but it was effective
Face- thread or wax eyebrows. Rest of face wax. Have shaved in a rush...and I got soo many compliments, ppl even touched my face...i was embarrassed inside cuz i knew the reason!
Neck, Chest, Stomach-no visible hair
Upper Arms-leave as is, bleach for parties. Do not want spiky upper arms!
Lower Arms-shave, wax.
Armpits- Shave. But not a lot of hair because i'm getting laser treatments :) I'm trying to become zero maintenance and I realized I can live without makeup, and once I don't have body hair, my only maintenance will be having a shower and brushing my teeth!
Upper legs- Have never removed hair from upper legs. It's almost invisible and I don't want it to become spiky.
Lower legs-Razor, wax.
Feet-ignore most of the time. for parties, shave.
Not a fan of epilating as it gives spiky hair...it's basically like a super fast tweezer.
mum has pink phillips i have blue braun silk epil, mine is better... the only thing i can face doing is my arms, legs are v. painful but now am trying it again and it still hurts like hell!
^ lubly deaarr..tum pehle waxing karwao apne legs ki..then when haire starts to grow back...PHIR tum epilate karna..wont hurt as much..then just maintain...voila!...:)
hi sara, using an epilator underarms first time round is a KILLER, honestly it really feels like an impossible mission...however, i used it literally bit by bit hair by hair, and i literally gritted my teeth throught the whoe time (it took me like 30 mins per area!! Also, the best thing to do is to have a few ice cubes in a freezer bag with u and just cool the area down as u epilate, i found this helped ALOT as it numbs the area slightly... and another thing, use a very small amount of talcum powder, that also helps...
I use the phillips make and as i said, first time is a killer but thereafter, its a breeze...so i say go through the pain, as they say, no pain no gain! And really, my underarms feel as soft as a babys bottie!
Hope this helps x
Thanks l
akin mene suna hai k agar hair ki lenght zara lambi ho to phir pain kaam hoti hai epilator use kertay howey?????is that so???????
as long as you don't get bad ingrowns from epilating it is better than shaving, only because it lasts that little bit longer.
otherwise, it is not. shaving does not make the hair come back thicker, people be logical. it just cuts the hairs so the ends are blunt rather than the natural tapered ends, therefore making them look and feel thicker. the follicle and root are in no way affected.
as far as epilating or waxing making the hair come back thinner, it's only temporary - leave the hair alone for a few months so the different hair cycles have time to grow out and you will find the hair thickness/density are not any less.
