More and more people I talk to in different American cities, the same response I get. Most of the guys in the Pakistani community here are not very educated, are not ambitious, are waiting to inherit their dad’s gas station or small business, and run it as their own.
More and more girls I meet, I see we’re all going for post-grad education, we’re all getting degrees. Some for the purpose of fetching better rishtas. Some for the purpose of God forbid actually working.
I’m trying to look for a city in America where most of the guys are in a more professional path - they 're educated, they’re hard working, they’re getting schooled well.
Is it just me, or is the education gap between males and females increasing and leading to a social crisis possibly in the future where good educated American-raised Pakistani women will just continue having trouble finding good spouses because all the uneducated boys are tending to not take these ambitious women on as their wives?
If I’m wrong, I’ll be so happy if you can direct me to a city, where this trend is not the populat one amongst the males. Because I need to pack my bags and get the heck out of this place, because that’s all I see.
let's see...almost everyone I know has a college degree, is either working towards MBA, CPA exams, masters' etc. I know maybe a few who haven't gone to college--but they still managed to do well, and it doesnt make them worse than anyone. it really depends on your circle and where you are. Here in NY--u find all kinds.
We have Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, TMobile, Costco, to mention a few major employers headquarters.
Then we have Eddie Bauer and Nordstrom headquarters as well …and yes, Starbucks.
So we have a whole bunch of young and ambitious Pakistanis over here. Just a few months ago, we met a young couple who told us that they are one of 40 software engineers who have come directly from Pakistan for employment here. Sharp dudes
I find that so odd..... most people here, and im in melbourne :), are very ambitious... if they havent gotten a professional job already, they are studying further
Lol, there are very eligible bacherlors out there. I know one here and if i could, id marry him off to one of my best friends... but alas, the mum i think wants someone who is willing to stay with the inlaws.. which i dont think is too much to ask for
as a guy, I have the same impression of Pakistani girls... not enough ambition. just want to get married, stay at home and push out babies... I'm pretty sure there were next to no Pakistani girls in most of the tougher programs (engineering, CS, etc) at my school for a good number of years when I was there. and eventually the Pakistani girls that showed up were international students who started coming to Canada because going to the US became difficult post-youknowwhat.
ps. this is not a tit for tat response or a flame attempt... just my opinion... based on my admittedly limited observations.
