the dulhan hair bump

how do brides get that bump in their hair? you know- when the dupatta is on the head and it looks higher on the back part of the head and flat on the front of the head..

nobody has enough hair for those bumps to be all hair- do they add some kind of “padding” or something underneath the hair?

tell me how they do it, “bumpy” dulhans!

re: the dulhan hair bump

i always thought it was only backcombing but last year i saw the hairstylist putting a "gola’ thingy lol in the hair to give it more height  but ya that was not in pakistan so i don’t know if same happens here too :bummer:.

re: the dulhan hair bump

They put stuff like a sponge or something like this

re: the dulhan hair bump

re: the dulhan hair bump

yeah they do that padded/gola thing in pakistan too.

re: the dulhan hair bump

hmm what's a gola?

re: the dulhan hair bump

haha unfortunately i thought that too- and when i put the dupatta on you can guess what happened- frumph hair totally collapses :smack:

then it slid further and further back on my head for the duration of the reception :bummer:

you’d think someone would have told me to fix it? but, NO waahhh

re: the dulhan hair bump

anyone want to post pics of their favorite dulhan "bump" hairstyle?

re: the dulhan hair bump

They put a roll of cotton in mine.

re: the dulhan hair bump

Along with a little backcombing.

re: the dulhan hair bump

Yes pls post cus I'm not quite sure what you mean!

Also, am I the only one who after reading the title 'dulhan bump' thought it referred to dulhans who had their nikkah and rukhsati miles apart and end up being pregnant on their rukhsati/walima (hence the bump...) lol

re: the dulhan hair bump

re: the dulhan hair bump

Bumpits and loads of back-combing.

re: the dulhan hair bump

Fake hair!

re: the dulhan hair bump

i heard those bumpits things don't work all that well- they don't use those in pak tho i'm sure

i saw something on ebay that looked kind of like a shoulder pad made from sponge- maybe that would work better?

re: the dulhan hair bump

haha i knew someone would think that after i posted it :stuck_out_tongue:

i dunno how to post pics- i’ll go try to figure it out :clown:

re: the dulhan hair bump

They use a spongey hair foundation called a “rat roll” you can pick them up for three or four dollars at any beauty supply store or on amazon or ebay.

If you go on youtube and search for hair doughnut, hair foundation, you can find a few pretty good videos, my fave is this one:
