Nope. When your government makes such a desprerate attempt to lie about a gunshot, it makes you wonder why? Maybe because jihadis don't typically use guns and soldiers do.

the guy who was firing the gun was standing next to the guy who was going to blow himself up. it was a suicide mission, typically on the jihadi resume.

I still don't see why the government would make stuff like this up. Even government officials concede that a gunman WAS shooting at BB. If the government was trying to hide something, wouldn't they deny this fact? A guy missing the target from close range is a testament to his failure, not the the government's success at stopping him.

everyone has theories, without any proof.
here is another one, it was an inside job thats why the killers got thru security which included not just govt security but PPP security much of it pallned by zardari, articles days before this tragedy were talkign about how haphazard the security arrangements were and how screeing was pretty bad for PPP's own security services.
not only did she sticks her head out, be she does it right when teh shooter is right there, gotten thry all layers of govt and PPP security to be right by the car, and not one dude, mind u..2, one with a gun and one with a bomb.
were they just hangign around that by chance they will get her, and would take chances at each rally until they got her? and at each rally they would chance it that they may or may nto be able to get within striking distance of the car?
something simply does not add up. there has to be an inside connection as well.

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan, Dec. 31 – Pakistani authorities have pressured the medical personnel who tried to save Benazir Bhutto’s life to remain silent about what happened in her final hour and have removed records of her treatment from the facility, according to doctors.
In interviews, doctors who were at Bhutto’s side at Rawalpindi General Hospital said they were under extreme pressure not to share details about the nature of the injuries that the opposition leader suffered in an attack here Dec. 27.
“The government took all the medical records right after Ms. Bhutto’s time of death was read out,” said a visibly shaken doctor who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue. Sweating and putting his head in his hands, he said: “Look, we have been told by the government to stop talking. And a lot of us feel this is a disgrace.”
“The truth is, there really is no investigation at all,” said Babar Awan, a top official in Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party who said he saw Bhutto’s body after the attack and identified two clearly defined bullet wounds – entry and exit points.
He said that the principal professor of surgery at the hospital, Muhammad Mussadiq Khan, was “extremely nervous, but eventually told me that Bhutto had died of a bullet wound.”
“Why was this man so nervous?” Awan said. “He told me firsthand he was under pressure not to talk about how she died.”

Thomas M. Scalea, physician in chief of the shock trauma center at the University of Maryland Medical Center, said that while there was no evidence of a bullet wound, he was also perplexed by how the blunt force of Bhutto’s head against an object could have caused brain damage severe enough to kill her so quickly.
“The whole thing strikes me as very unusual,” said Scalea.

if indeed this is a cover up then it is an absolutely idiotic and asinine move by the govt. what good does anyone get from covering up something like that. the entire world knows that security was compromised and the gunman and bomber were right by the car when BB stuck her head out and shots were fired at her.
if there was a cover-up as it seems then this is just plain and simple moronic.
