Re: The 'Did you know?' thread

Anteaters protect their long claws by walking on their knuckles. This makes them look as if they are limping.

Re: The 'Did you know?' thread

North Pole and South Pole on a world map are simply geographic north and south poles. The actual Magnetic North and South pole are always constantly moving.
The Magnetic North Pole is just off the north coast of Canada moving towards Russia at about 60 km/year
The Magnetic South Pole is on the edge of the Antarctic Circle moving North West at about 15 km/year

Also, since opposites attract, the south pole is physically a magnetic north pole.

Re: The ‘Did you know?’ thread

hehe ok this one makes me giggle.

female spiders swallow the male spiders after having sex :cb:

anyone know why?

Re: The 'Did you know?' thread

Because they were that bad at it.

A cockroach can live for 9 days without its head before finally dying. Even then it only dies of starvation.

Re: The 'Did you know?' thread

After ejaculation, a male honey bee (drone) dies because its penis and abdominal tissues are ripped from its body.

What a way to go :(

Re: The ‘Did you know?’ thread

Because the female spiders are over possessive. :cb:

Only Black Widow does that, not all female spiders.
