Re: Sharif and Bhutto's Charter of Democracy
Nawaz Sharif treated many people worse than BB did recently, during his two terms in power. Not that that justifies her horrible behaviour towards him.
Re: Sharif and Bhutto's Charter of Democracy
I was recently watching those Enron guys on t.v who were convicted and could now spend the rest of their lives in prison.I think Benzair Churail and Nawaz Sharif really deserve the same for all they have done to the people of Pakistan.
Re: Sharif and Bhutto's Charter of Democracy
^Yes they do but this does not lake Musharraf good, he deserves the same fate.
Re: Sharif and Bhutto's Charter of Democracy
Pakistanis are forgiving people ..they forgave the Military leaders for treason, the kalashinkov culture and losing half the country ..I am sure they can forgive BB and NS...as far as Ganja is concerned methinks his one year in prison 1999-2000 often in solitary would have made him far more bitter with Mushy.
Re: Sharif and Bhutto's Charter of Democracy
Not true. Barey Tind wasnt given sufficient time- each time he won his govt. was sacked cuz of one silly reason or the other.. he was/is a visionary. Re responded to India's nuclear testing within days. This chhota mushy boy was the architect of Kargil not him yet he took blame on his shoulders and went to talk to Clinton. Remember Mr. 10 precent? BB and his husband looted Pakistan with two hands freely.. khair, I donno why ppl single out Nawaz Sharif.. I think he should make a comeback..
Re: Sharif and Bhutto's Charter of Democracy
We do. They are the people Nawaz Sharif is now signing deals with, and being forced to do so at the house of the man (Rehman Malik) who personally arrested/brutalized his father, and humiliated his family.
Additionally, Nawaz Sharif never won a fair election in his life. The 1990 elections are now widely accepted as wholly rigged, while the 1997 one was a total farce. I don't like BB, but at least she actually won both elections quite fairly.
Re: Sharif and Bhutto’s Charter of Democracy
Why? Because it’s hard to loot the country when you’re not in power.
Re: Sharif and Bhutto's Charter of Democracy
^^ Two big time leaders signing a treaty is a good thing. However they have stopped short of truly implementing democratic ideals within their own parties.
How could we the poor people of Pakistan expect these 2 leaders to be democratic PMs, when they have failed to provide democratic values to ML(N) and PPP(BB)?
If these two leaders want transfer of power in Islamabad, then why they themselves are "life-long" (read dictatorial) leaders of their own parties?
Re: Sharif and Bhutto’s Charter of Democracy
Benazir humiliated Nawaz by getting him to sign the charter at the house of Rehman Malik, who hounded his family and personally arrested his father (“abba ji”).
Now Nawaz meets up with his old friend Justice (r) Abdul Qayyum, who convicted her of corruption and sentenced her to 5 years in prison, and someone who played a part in the hanging of her father (Zulfi Bhutto).
Nawaz-Qayyum meeting upsets PPP
The top leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has expressed concern over a meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Justice (r) Abdul Qayyum, the judge who convicted Benazir Bhutto in a corruption case in 1999. Alarm bells rang in the PPP following the meeting that took place in Dubai with PPP sources saying that such a meeting would not augur well for the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD), particularly after the signing of the Charter of Democracy. An Ehtesab Bench of the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi, headed by Justice (r) Abdul Qayyum, had convicted Benazir Bhutto on charges of corruption and corrupt practices committed in the award of a pre-shipment inspection contract to a foreign company, SGS. Later, Benazir Bhutto appealed against the Ehtesab Bench decision and the Supreme Court ordered a retrial. The case could not be re-tried because Benazir Bhutto later left the country.

Re: The Charter of Democracy
There wont be any deal.. after Charter for Democracy.. PPP have gone for the Charter after rejecting any deal.. this would be a bright day for Pakistan when at least politicians admit their mistakes and vow never to be allured by army stooges.. when there would be an audit of army and they be resposible to people..
You were wrong. I was right. :o
