So here’s the update.

Looks like some friend of hers from work went to the detectives that are on the case and reported that she had complained about her inlaws taking all her earnings as her parents back in India weren’t well off and hadn’t given them enough jahez. So they would taunt her and tell her that she needed to work and give them her paycheck as compensation.

What could have happened is that she probably found the courage to escape and because she doesn’t want all this to become a scandalous affair, she decided to take some steps herself. No one know if she has her passport or not. I hope she does so she can go back to her parents.

Assuming everything else you mentioned in this post is accurate, I hope she has her passport too.
