The majority of the Muslims in the west regardless of the religious or non-religious share a view regarding the Muslim protestors in this matter and similar matters. We consider this action born out of ignorance and uncontrolled emotional turmoil.
It is not the place for a Muslim to behave out of the control of his senses unleashing pure ignorance and emotion in any matter. Rather such situations present themselves as an opportunity to strategise a response.
We do not consider such displays to be demonstrating love of our dear and holy prophet Muhammad (SAW) in any way at all. It appears to us that these riots are excuses for economically and politically impoverished Muslims to vent at huge scales. It appears selfish.
I saw a few minutes of the video and in honesty they have done the same thing to their own holy figures in the Bible … With respect to all prophets even the Bible itself is a document proving that they have changed the scripture to make the prophets seem to be like any of us with all of our faults. They have simply done the same to our prophet in their ignorance.
They do these things to get a response from us … We give them a response and then the media feature them even more … Paying them for their time. The people who riot in the East are making sure that these film makers get paid … Do you see the ignorance?
The best response we can give to ignorant hate fuelling is to remain silent … Don’t say anything … Supplicate against those who made the film and see how Allah (SWT) deals with them … 
… In the Hereafter … And perhaps in this life too …
