I disagree. Every single Muslim can make a difference…not just those that are living in “western countries”.
Even the average pakistani mard can make a difference simply by ignoring such material.
People that make such movies/cartoons etc. do it because they can count on a reaction from the illiterate masses around the world. And 9 times out of 10 they get exactly what they bargained for…rioting, destruction of property in the name of “protests”. They play us well…don’t you think?
I would like to believe that the Muslims in “those countries” know better than to draw attention to something as insignificant as this.
First and foremost — ghussa is haram hence no point becoming angry. Second…do some reading and discover how our beloved prophet s.a.w. reacted when he was insulted directly to his face. What did he do? How did he react? Adopt that approach! He was here to teach us. Have we not learned anything?
If you look around at the most respected scholars and alims you will find that their demeanour is always peaceful and calming. No matter if an opponent appears before them and attacks the very faith they preach…they still reply with kindness and in a gentle tone. These are the things that we should learn and follow.
Personally I am not angered by the movie…haven’t watched it…haven’t even watched the trailer and will not. That will be my protest…to be dismissive and completely ignore the whole thing so that it (i.e. the matter) dies as fast a death as possible.
Our faith is too grand to be tarnished by such simple minds…Alhamdulillah!
