Re: baby boy names with letter Z
How do u pronouns it? Is it zi daan
Nope. We pronounce it like the footballer does Zid-an with a short "a" sound like in "can".
Zidaan sounds kind of pretentious to me :/

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names
I'm going to have an ultrasound in 3.5 weeks and will be 20 weeks then! :-) So counting down to inshallah finding out the sex of the baby soon. I had a few questions (have been narrowing down my lists of names) that I hope some of you might be able to answer.
For girl names: I thought I heard or saw somewhere a variation of the name Aleeza. Has anyone heard of Alizey? I can not seem to find a meaning on the internet and / or origin etc. Also, I read that the name Aleeza is of Hebrew origin. Does anyone know of anyone in Pakistan / who's Muslim with that name?
For boy names, I recently found out that Ayyan is a unisex name and used for girls and boys. I would have preferred to stay away from any unisex names but I really like Ayyan for a boy. Experiences? Thoughts?
My favourites so far are: for a girl - Aleeza / Alizey, Aroush and Rania. For a boy Ayaan, Hadi and Daniyal. Anyone know the correct prounciation for the name Aroush? I haven't heard of anyone by that name in person. Thanks!
girl names with H
The only ones I can think of:
hamna
habiba
hina
hanyia
haleema
hiba
hareem
hadiqa
hafza
hunza
but those are mostly names I saw on some drama and associate with some actress who probably cheated on her husband or was mean to her saas. (except hareem who was the daughter in humsafar :)
Are there any cute H-names I could use for a baby girl that don't make me think of the associated drama?
girl names with H

my friend's sisters daughter is actually named alizey but i am not sure of the meaning. i will ask her. i have also heard the name lize - it means naram aur lachakdaar kamaan - according to a book of baby names i have. i tried to find the name alizey in the book but i couldnt :(
i am surprised that Ayaan is a unisex name :/ i really like that name for a boy as well and i was hoping to go with it although my hubby is on the edge about that name. how did you find out its used for girls as well? i have met several kids (all boys) named Ayaan never thought it would be a girls name but who knows. i think if you really like the name go ahead with it :D i really like all your choices Hadi is also one of my top choices :)
ps. i am 17 weeks right now and i can have my ultrasound anything between 18-20 weeks so I will schedule it asap! cant wait to find out the gender either hehehe <3 i dont think i can wait 3 more weeks till i am actually 20 weeks so ill go it at 18-19 lol im just not patient :P i reallyyyyy hope that they get it right tho!!!
re: The Big Thread of Baby Names
Thanks for the info ak12. If you could find the meaning of Alizey from your friend that would be awesome! As far as Ayyan is concerned a friend of mine mentioned that she had heard the name used for girls also and today I was reading a Pakistani blog ('Something haute') and it had the pic of a female model and her name was Ayyan. I'm glad you like Ayyan and Hadi also. :-) What are your other favs?! I'm so jealous you have a book of names. Where did you get it from? I'm in Toronto, I wonder if I could a find Pakistani / Muslim / Arab baby name book here?
And awww your 17 weeks. Since I'm 16.5 weeks, we are due only a few days apart from one another. lol
re: The Big Thread of Baby Names
hehe yes we are :) my due date is november 4th InshaAllah. whats yours?
i am also in toronto. but my friend went to pakistan recently and she got it for me from there. she asked me if i wanted something from pak and thats what i specifically asked for. what a bummer about Ayaan but i still love that name. I reallyyyyyy love Inayah (God's gift/blessing) and Ayla (beautiful like a moon) as well. for a boy i for some reason am stuck on Ayaan and ibrahim but my hubby is on the edge so he has his own list hahaha.
I did ask my friend about Alizey but she said they spell it Alizeh (i personally like this spelling better but its pronounced the same anyways) - it means wind. and the origin is persian. i think its a beautiful name :)
re: The Big Thread of Baby Names
My due date is 8th November inshallah. Do let us know when you find out if you are having a boy or girl! That was such a smart idea asking for a book of names from Pakistan. People keep asking me when visiting Pakistan and I never thought of that. Will ask now when someone goes. The other names you like are cute. And thanks for the info on alizeh. Yes such a pretty name.

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names
I am having such a tough time picking out my daughters name :s I want a name where the meaning is a good quality or strong positive personality trait.
re: The Big Thread of Baby Names
alizeh/alizay is a persian name, as far as i know, but i have no idea about meaning. some sites are saying it means “wind”.
there’s an alcoholic drink, Alizé, which is pronounced the same way. Alizé - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
