It’s not even the guys. It’s their mothers I’ve been to a couple of weddings where either the guy is more conventionally prettier, the bride is not skinny or gasp darker than the groom. These times the guy’s mother is telling everyone it’s the son’s choice. As much as guys go for the pretty girls they also go for compatibility. Their mothers don’t.
