The best ceramic flat iron

would be?

P.S: best as in, not drying up the hair or making them brittle. You oughta have some kind of experience with it before you recommend a name. And the budget is limited to $200 max.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

The creme de la creme of ceramic straighteners are said to be GHD's which would certainly be affordable within your budget.

As far as drying your hair out goes, all ceramic straighteners will do this because the heat is being applied directly to the hair. You can however, try to minimise the damage by protecting your hair prior to straightening by using a heat protection product.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

yep, GHD is the bestest...about £100 i think, i didnt pay for mine though so you'l have to check out the real price.

what shahreen said about all straightners damaging your hair is also true, i use Aveda brilliant damage control before straightening and its meant to protect from thermal and UV damage, it also says it reduces breakage for all hair types. Its really good.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

I think GHD's are coming down in price a lot too lately to compete with all the other makes of ceramic straighteners. I paid just over £100 for mine a while back and my sister got hers from Boots for £80 which means the lucky cow also got all those advantage points too.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

With the kind of budget you mentioned, anyone could rip you off. :stuck_out_tongue: You can get a much cheaper and better straighter (yes ceramic). I own about five of them and I assure you none could have a better experience with flat irons than me. Dope! :smack2: Anyway, the best I have found so far is “conair turbo flat iron hair ceramic straightener”. It’s dual voltage and provides instant heat. Works the best. Costs 25 bucks! :k:

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

Chandbeti, I use the CHI ceramic flat iron, and it is amazing--I can get my hair stick straight, soft, and shiny in about 10 minutes (and I have super thick hair). The CHI is around $100 USD, and for me the money was completely worth it. I get compliments on my hair everytime I use it. I tried many inexpensive irons before getting this one, but those didn't really straighten out my hair.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

i didnt think boots sold GHD…how dare they, i want to pair just for the points now

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

I didn't think they did either, but apparantely the bigger ones do now. Fat lot of use that is to me now though.

By the way, GHD hair oil is shyte stuff.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

i na love, thats why i use Aveda hair products...cost me just as much as my hair cut mind you...but my hair is perfection.

just buy some more...if i can so can you

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

Oh I threw it out after the first time I used it. I use Tigi stuff now.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

no man, i meant buy some more GHD...

is tigi stuff good? My hairdressers use Aveda stuff and they forced me to buy it, but its really good and makes me hair smell lush

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

GHwho? 2 votes for GHD( I am assuming shahreen uses it herself).

1 vote for conair- but I doubt it. Dimagh: your hair looks naturally straight so maybe even a mediocre one works great on them. It's a one time investment, I wouldn't want to waste it on something which might die on me in a month or not give good enough results.

1 vote for CHI. I went to this website where flat irons were rated. CHI was in the top 5 but someone complained of it dying within a quarter on her.

Has anyone used SEDU or SOLIA?

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

I guess you are right. My hair is naturally pretty straight, I just use it to get rid of the frizziness. Sowwie! may be I don’t know which one works best for you. You know what though? I tried it on one of my cousins, and she has way too curly hair. It worked fine on her… Well the choice is yours. I was just trying to save you a few bucks.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

GHD's all da waaay! And girls try TRESSEME shampoo conditioner and heat protection spray with their serum....hair will look like heaven...

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

i cant afford GHD..too expensive for me its about 100 quid! anybody got any other good reccommendations? i was thinking of getting the remingtons's ceramic straightner which is on offer at boots for 19.99?

i have a budget of 25....

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

^ aaah i dont think the cheap ones work very well at all unless uve got naturally straight hair and all u wanna do is make em look even straighter..

ive got a normal Muster.. i paid hmm $160 for it i believe... its perfect!!! i wouldnt mind getting a super dooper ceramic one now though

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

I'd get the CHI 2 inch one if you have long hair, no matter what straightener you have and if u have long hair, it usually takes the same amount of time for me it takes about an hour. Buy it on Ebay you can get it for about $100...

I also have a ceramic flat iron by Hot Tools and it works really nice as well.. it was about $70..

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

i don't know what Ghd or chi is but i use hot tools professional straightener....it was recommended by my hair dresser and it does an amazing job. people ask me about it all the time and it only costs about $20. you can get it at most beauty supply shops.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

I use the one by Farouk Systems ... I believe it's CHI. It's fantastic ... couldn't live without it. I also recently switched to Joico shampoo/conditioner. Excellent results and it smells great too.

Re: The best ceramic flat iron

not heard of either! can u get em from the UK?
