The Belly Fat Cure - Jorge Cruise

Re: The Belly Fat Cure - Jorge Cruise

Very low carb diet gets you quick weight loss and is definitely effective however there are some issues. Its extremely hard to stick to over long period of time and when u reintroduce carbs you will gain quickly again. Second longterm health risks of low carb and hence high protein and fat diet (assuming you are not cutting a lot on calories) are not known yet. There is preliminary evidence that it may have untoward effects on kidneys, it increases the acids in your body and moves calcium out of your bones.

Re: The Belly Fat Cure - Jorge Cruise

The key word is "short term".

Besides, one does not have to consume saturated fat for calorie balance lost from carb.

Carb is weight producing element.

So** if the goal is to be healthy.**

Always eat healthy and do not ever get fat or obese.

If the goal is to reduce weight fast over short time, then lowest carb diet is the way to go.

Only then body will learn to stop gaining weight and breakdown fat tissues. ( Negative metabolism)

What is so smart about saying saturated fat need not be consumed???

That goes without saying. No need for a degree. :p

From heart healthy view, it is not JUST unsaturated fat.

It is polyunsaturated or mono-unsaturated fat one always should try to consume.-regardless of goal is being healthy or weight loss.

In regards to acid production, calcium loss or even concern about kidney stone, none has causal relation to low carb diet, especially over SHORT TERM.

Hydration hydration and hydration is key to avoid kidney stones. (Refer to other thread by Niksik on this)

Uric acid stones as feared by low carb diet consumption by some is not substantiated.

There is NO scientific reason to worry about short term low carb diet to reduce weight in healthy people.

You realize half the time you just post out of pure *zid *right?

Re: The Belly Fat Cure - Jorge Cruise

great pal. now you take out the majority of carbs from your normal diet and substitute it with protein. how? not with plant protein because almost all of plant proteins come naturally tied with starch - legumes/soy etc etc. the only way to bump up protein and stay off carbs is to eat a lot of animal protein - and this is tied in with your uncle saturated fat. i hope this makes it clear why it is important to stress the importance of staying off of saturated fats as much as possible when going for a low carb diet. tsk...

Re: The Belly Fat Cure - Jorge Cruise

Someone did not read my post clearly. :)

The salient points were:

!- Short term.

2- What is the goal.

If weight loss id intended, short term very low carb diet is OK for healthy individuals.

Nothing wrong if animal meat is reduced to minimum. No need to eat animal meat everyday.

Don't know why I had to repeat. :D

Re: The Belly Fat Cure - Jorge Cruise

My urologist has asked me to avoid low carb, high protein diets as they may cause kidney stones. I remember going on a lot of such diets last year and I did get an awefully large kidney stone :(

Re: The Belly Fat Cure - Jorge Cruise

The main reason of overweighting is that we gain the weight of our belly..
If we reduce the weight of the belly, we can easily loss the weight and can get fitness..
