Doh @ Brown and Vasquez..

Suppan didn't have his best stuff at the end of the season - i like what Woody brings to the mount - still i think Cardinals will be ok without Chris Carpenter tho it's a loss but they have recovered awesomely...

am i the only one here who like pitchers than batters? you should look at the collective era of the cards...tho not ignoring what Edmonds, Walker, Pujols and Rolen have done but they all four of them have been awesome with their Gloves.

The mean streets of boston :D
Woody williams gave away 4 runs in the first inning but didn't get replaced up until the 4th. If it was any offesensly challenged team they were facing , that strategy might have worked but not against boston. I gotta give it to cardinals though, after the 3rd innining when we were winning 7-2, i was pretty sure that the win is sealed but they slowly kept on mounting runs and caught up to us, until bellhorn's two run homer than it was over.
Can't wait till tonight. Let's see how the cards par against schilling.

Jim Edmonds was robbed on top of 6th and 8th with bases loaded. It wasn’t the strike and got called out as it was shown clearly in the replay.

I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the highlight of Manny Ramirez attempting to take the sliding catch.

:rotfl: FUNNY!!!

Win ugly win often. Could that have been sloppier?

Who says defense and pitching win ballgames?

On to Schilling...

Schilling is DA MAN. This guy is one hell of a base ball palyer. He is tough, he can almost play football with the ability to play with injuries. If Pedro pitches a good game tomorrow, Cards say bye bye.

Four errors in each of the first two WS games. Ay Carumbaaa. And they still win. The Cards did not capitalize, and the Sox were lucky as hell. A win is a win, but dang, those were two sloppy games.

Pedro has warm weather, extended rest, a mediocre opposing pitcher in Suppan, and an energized team. On the other hand, if the Cards bats really wake up, they could exploit the home field. Somebody said that the Red Sox beating the Yankees was like the US beating the Soviet Union, and then having to play Finland for the Gold. Fenway SEEMED like Finland. It's raw and cold here. Sox lose the DH too, which should hurt defense, and hitting, but help Pedro.

2 more. Go Sox!

Yesterday's game was a waste. Cards were never in contention. First game was ok, especially when Cards tied twice. But I gotta say, after BoSox-Yankee series, something pretty special needs to happen for this series to top it. So far, its not happening. Hopefully Cards will win the next 3 to make it atleast some bit exciting when it moves back to Fenway.

dont u live in ohio, ohioguy???

So anyways, schilling is one hell of a pitcher. He had so many things going against him , the ankle, the sore hip and most of all the cardinals offense but he managed to cross all those obstacles to get the win. If he doesn't win the mvp award than they might aswell stop giving them out.

Now lets see if the murderers row wakes up tongiht at home. I hope pedro brings his A game to the mound tonight. Its gonna be hard to shut the bats and the crowd.

Do you live in Pakistan? Read the profile!

im glad there is no baseball tonight. and i can finally watch some football :> they robbed us of sunday night football game yesterday cos of world series :>

this world series is boring, despite 8 errors in 2 games, the cards have no answer for sox

This is really a must win for the Cardinals on Tuesday - they've been playing better at home so maybe they can take advantage of this 3 game stretch.

i just couldn't believe Woody had such a bad game - was it because of misty evening? The Clones of Bill Buckner appeared two nights in a row and Cardinals couldn't take advantage of it....freaking Nuts..

incase you forgot, ur nick is "Ohioguy", thus i asked you the question. and btw, my nick isnt "pakistanguy" or anything that might have led you to believe that i live there.

So anyways, everyone seems to be talking about how boston has made so many errors and st.louis hasn't been able to capitilize on that, i would beg to differ. They have utilized fielding errors but its just that boston comes back and makes up for it.
There was some lousy base running yesterday, when edgar renteria(or womack?) only ran upto second base when he easily could have been at third then later on in the same inninng, he got tagged on his way to third.... but then again they only could have gained one or two runs at most so that doesn't really matter. Its just that boston has out performed st.louis in every aspect of the game besides defense and people expect st.louis to utilize their strong point for some more runs but it isn't possible.

Schilling's performance this postseason will become baseball lore to which all future courageous performances will be compared.

His bloody socks will hold a prominent display in Cooperstown.

Red Sox in 6

Sorry about politics intruding here, but this is kind of funny. During the Democratic convention, John Kerry made a big show of going to a Sox game and declaring that his favorite player was, “Manny Ortiz”. Apparently fatigue is effecting his ability to remember the scores of his “beloved” team too…

Kerry strikes out as Boston Red Sox leave him red-faced

NEDRA PICKLER IN PORTSMOUTH

SENATOR John Kerry’s efforts to portray himself as “just a regular American guy” suffered a blow this weekend when he comprehensively messed up the scoreline at a game featuring his beloved Boston Red Sox.

Twice on Sunday, the Democrat said he was basking in the glory of Boston’s 10-9 win on Saturday night. The problem was, the Red Sox won 11-9.

“Ten-nine, the Sox did fabulous,” Mr Kerry said with a big smile as he ducked into church on Sunday morning in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Inside, the minister asked worshippers to clap “if the Lord has done anything wonderful in your life this week”, to which Mr Kerry applauded.

“I had a special reason to clap,” Mr Kerry explained. “The Red Sox won 10-9.”

Mr Kerry’s spokesman, David Wade, said the senator got the score wrong because 10-9 was the last update he got during his late-night flight to Florida.

The problem is, the score never was 10-9. The Sox won on a two-run homer, meaning they went from nine runs to 11. Regardless, Mr Kerry’s adviser, Mike McCurry, explained to reporters: “The senator had bad intelligence last night.”

However, the confusion struck again within hours of his team’s second game.

Landing in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the Democratic candidate bounded off the plane wearing his Red Sox cap to exclaim:

“Seven-one Red Sox!”

The Red Sox were winning 6-1 at the time. They went on to win 6-2.

Hahaha.... come on Ohioguy.. Give the guy a break. Too bad Astros couldn't tame the Cardinals, else it would have been the perfect World Series going into the final week of election between a Texan and a Bostonian.

Very disappointing 3rd game for Card fans. The Suppan mistake on 3rd base, probably costed them the game... Full marks to Pedro. He came in extremely strong in this game, and it was Lights Out for the Cards offence. BoSox now are just one game (including 2 home games) away from finally getting over the Curse. Good for them.

The only question remains, whether Cards can pull a BoSox on them (clawing back from 0-3 to win the series). Seems unlikely, knowing that Cards starting pitching was never their strong point. I just hope its not a sweep.. That will be truly damning for NL.

Here, Birdie Birdie Birdie :yummy:

Props to the Red Sox. I disliked them when they eliminated Angels :grumpy: but earned my respect, and I believe everyone else when they beat Yankees 4 games straight and now just one win away for the Big Thing…The World Series Championship…which they haven’t had since 1918.

^^

Is that a signature or a bumper? Are you selling advertising at the bottom of your posts?

At any rate, Sox Fans are used to crushing disappointment, and we can hear Yogi saying "it ain't over til its over". The Sox will not let up until 27 outs are recorded. With that said, Derek Lowe ahs been up and down all season, which Derek appear is a real question mark. The good news is that the Cardinals pitching is stinking out the joint.

What are the odds on a post season team winning 8 straignt? Pretty low I would assume!

:smack: Blunder Blunder Blunder :bash:

Cardinals chose the bad time not to swing bat - not run the bases well.. this team wasn’t suppose to be this good - this team wasn’t suppose to run away with the NL Central - this team wasn’t suppose to have the pitching to compete with anyone let alone be among the top in baseball - this team wasn’t suppose to make the playoffs - this team was almost on the ropes but came back from a 3-2 deficit against Houston and advance to the W.S. - this team wasnt suppose to be in the WS - and surely this team wasn’t suppose to win the WS against a favored Boston club..

this team has been amazing this year. From being pronounced “3rd in the NL Central” to a rocky game 1 vs Milwaukee to start the year, to a 22-23 record, to Pujols have that 3 homer game in Chicago :mad3: - to So Taguchi having a big homer off Kyle Farnsworth( i hated that, too), to Jimmy Edmonds robbing homers and hits to left right and dead center, to Scott Rolen having a monster year, to John Mabry coming up from Memphis and having a great year, to Rick Ankiel returning, to a Ray Lankford swan song, to Edgar’s amazing defense, to see this new pitching rotation that stunned everyone including myself this year, to improved bullpen, to winning the NL Central, to having 105 wins, to eliminating the Los Angeles Dodgers, to watching Julian Tavarez’s mental breakdown, to watching him come back and respond against the Astros, to coming back from being behind Houston 3-2 and watching Jimmy Edmonds walk off to send the Cards to Game 7 of the NLCS, to watching Edmonds amazing catch save the season for the Cardinals and watching Soup outduel one of the greatest pitchers in the history of baseball, to being down 0-3 against Boston in the World Series…

ah…i said that much - and am not even a Cardinals fan…:bummer:

lets go red sox lets go
