Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan
The only solution to this is through effective political discourse and national participation. Mohajirs are overwhelmingly patriotic Pakistanis and so are Sindhis. The danger is MQM, parttly because instead of claiming to represent some backwater part of the country it claims to represent a cosmopolitan, educated segment of the society as say opposed to say JUI (also mush's loyal bedmates). But I doubt if MQM has the same sanding in Karachi as it did b4. I think it started loosing popularity long before. But presently, it is reduced to a few notorious urban inner city persons who are more personality cult loyalists (God knows why) than anything else.
I personally believe, most will go for an alternative if given a chance. MMA, MQM, PMLQ...one could write quite a poetic expose` on this bandwagon.
That said, I believe any unwarranted rhetoric of suspicion toward one compatriots will further issues of mistrust than solving them.
