The Balkanization of Pakistan

The Balkanization of Pakistan. Would it really happen. Like Yugoslavia will Pakistan exist as a country in the present form. Already in 2005, a report by the US National Intelligence Council and the CIA forecast a “Yugoslav-like fate” for Pakistan “in a decade with the country riven by civil war, bloodshed and inter-provincial rivalries, as seen recently in Balochistan.”

The Destabilization of Pakistan by Prof. Michel Chossudovsky.

The assassination of Benazir Bhutto has created conditions which contribute to the ongoing destabilization and fragmentation of Pakistan as a Nation.

The process of US sponsored “regime change”, which normally consists in the re-formation of a fresh proxy government under new leaders has been broken. Discredited in the eyes of Pakistani public opinion, General Pervez Musharaf cannot remain in the seat of political power. But at the same time, the fake elections supported by the “international community” scheduled for January 2008, even if they were to be carried out, would not be accepted as legitimate, thereby creating a political impasse.

The Balkanization of Pakistan

Already in 2005, a report by the US National Intelligence Council and the CIA forecast a “Yugoslav-like fate” for Pakistan “in a decade with the country riven by civil war, bloodshed and inter-provincial rivalries, as seen recently in Balochistan.” (Energy Compass, 2 March 2005). According to the NIC-CIA, Pakistan is slated to become a “failed state” by 2015, “as it would be affected by civil war, complete Talibanisation and struggle for control of its nuclear weapons”.

interesting…

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

Doesn't the writer know President Musharaf is now a civilian President and not a serving General?

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

Anyone remember 1971 or is memory so fickle for the anti-Mush jihadists? It's funny to see jihadists suddenly using talking points stolen from Indians and other anti-Pakistan sources because they are no longer getting the same love from ISI as they were previously used to. Anti-Mush jihadists are the true definition of lotas.

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

whats with westerns, why they keep predicting pakistan's future??

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

Are you saying denada, lakkis are anti mush jehadists? :hehe: aqalmand , they are indians…

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

It makes me very sad to say it - but there may be no future for Pakistan. The hold of the generals and army is too strong and eventually people will revolt leading to a full scale civil war.

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

This makes it even clearer than as the anti-Mush jihadists are 100% in agreement with the external anti-Pakistan elements.

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

Yeah, people from your province are just realizing this amazing thing because a mohajir is the top general right now, but didn’t seem to realize this for the last 50 odd years even during which Pakistan broke up in 71. Convenient. :hehe:

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

Even the same ones that help fund and arm the MQM? :hehe:

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

The question may no longer be whether this slow motion disintegration of Pakistan can be stopped but whether it can be managed peacefully.

One can state that not only can the disintegration of Pakistan not be stopped, it will pick up pace and it certainly won’t be peaceful. People are slowly — but only too slowly — waking up this fact but still not comprehending it/accepting it. Pakistan is like a guy who is brain-dead but the heart is still pumping and lungs breathing, thanks to a heart-lung machine…

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

A disintegrating Pakistan, with the states of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Northwest Frontier Province, and Kashmir going their separate ways. “We could see the Afghanistanization of Pakistan, and an Afghanistan that becomes more unstable,” predicts Sundeep Waslekar, president of Mumbai think tank Strategic Foresight Group. That would create a large and turbulent land mass between South Asia and the Middle East – the most terrifying threat yet. A disintegrated Pakistan would also probably ruin the country’s surprising economic strength: Gross domestic product should expand 7% for 2007, and the Karachi Stock Exchange is up 45% for the year.

Question is - Would Pakistan be the next Somalia?

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

DUDE.
INDIA HAS BN PREDICTING FALL OF PAKISTAN SINCE
hmmmmmmmmm
let me think hmmmmmmmm
1947
oh wait wasn't that the year pakistan came into being???

COUNTRY NO ONE KNOWS THAT BETTER THEN INDIA.

WE HAVE SURVIVED INDIAN INVASION -RUSSIAN WAR-EARTHQUAKES-EXPLOSIONS
WHAT THE HELL DO WE HAVE TO DO TO PROVE WE ARE HERE TO SURVIVE.

MORONIC THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

wasnt it the western media that called pakistan a failed state in 1999.

well thanks to mush we came out of it, and the best thing now is that we still have the great man, and would coe out the problems today.

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

of course pplo are salivating over this prospect. those who have interests like getting natural resources in or thru Pakistan and those with old axes to grind.

but India should be the last country to hope for a balkanization of Pakistan, because being next door its industry, growth etc will have a rather nasty impact due to instability.

and pakistani awam who are fighting over crap without bothering to even think about the external threats, should sit back for a second and see what is going on and shuffle their priorities accordingly.

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

yawn. much smarter people have been predicting demise of pak even before country was created. nehru for instance had a higher intellect than any of the clowns quoted on this thread. nehru predicted pak would not survive five years. yet while pak has outlived nehru, thanks to him, hindus had to give up their ancestral homeland in pak. other notable nehru legacies: his daughter died in a hail of bullets, while his grandson had his bodies blown to smithereens. bottomline predicting demise of pak can be dangerous business.

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

yep these people have always come up with baseless reports since pakistan was created, and only blind people and anti pak people belive in them

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

A “mohajir” is not the top general fellow, Kiyanni is from Jhelum. Still we are not hypocrites like you MQM ethnic terrorists and we see what is wrong.

answer this:
blah, blah blah
All I here is an ethnic terrorist supporter crying. Is your idol Mushy a Punjabi? I dont think so. You MQM wallas cant cry about Punjab any more because your party is bent over and taking it hard from the “evil Punjabi establishment” you were crying about for so long. Only reason you are doing it now is because one of your own is in charge. I love the hyopcrasy of it now. Before all Punjabis were bad, the center and army were bad. Now that Mush has cut a deal with your Quaid you all love the army and him. If a Punjabi were in charge and not Mush the MQM and people like you would be crying at the top of your luings and we all know the truth.
So criticize the army and center now (AND MUSH AS WELL) if you are’nt a hypocite because ordinary Punjabis are doing it at the top of their lungs right now and dont talk about Punjab because today the MQM and its black quaid are the only group in the country that support the tyrants. The MQM is Mushys only vote bank and only real support.

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

its strange but these intelligence reports seem to come true. its seems like these are the directions cia wants to push pakistan.

it'll be prudent to watch what americans want (democracy etc) and if successful what the consquence is.

nobody and nothing has yet survived a cia onslaught, so its not looking too bright

Re: The Balkanization of Pakistan

There will always be geographical border changes. Today it is Pakistan, tomorrow it will be India. If Pakistan disintegrates, India wont be far.

The entire North East could separate. South India is progressing much faster than North India.
