The Ashes, First Test...

What now? Habib Bank batting lineup is better than England.
Here is a nice lesson for everyone here.
England with all their star batsman in the team couldn't put up a fight. Tresco, Vaughn, Butcher, Hussain, Carwley, Stewart.

So what are your trying to say? England's defeat justifies our abject and humiliating defeats as well. Oh good!!!!. Remember you were equally critical about our teams performance. I don't really care what England does, my main concern is Pakistan's performance. It is a nice leeson for our board and the brainless captain: don't try and prove that you can do the impossible by bringing in new and inexperienced players in front of the best team in the world, and when you are routed be a gentleman and resign rather then blame everyone else in the world.

Definitely NOT

Pakistan lost Test Series without its precious players whereas England lost it as a strong side against Aussies.

Ehsan bhai I hope you know the difference between loosing with a team with an average age of 24 and a team as experienced as England, who just couple months ago destroyed Srilanka at home.
Yes, nothing justifies the way Pakistan lost but that doesn't justify anyone else to start calling names, I'm not refering to you.

Quite suprising that the Ashes has been going on since 1882!

A long history of the Ashes, with many greats playing, and i’m sure this game will go down in Ashes history as the match that fell down Immensely.

Any changes you guys think the Poms will do? First of all replace Simon Jones with possibly Harmisson or Tudor?

Something tells me that, maybe McGrath has made Vaughan his “Bunny”, just like he predicted.

Next off, Adelaide Oval.

Also, could we please leave Pakistani Cricket out of every discussion. Soon we’ll end up seeing how a NFL Football game has the same similarities as a Pakistan Test Match.

Pakistan Cricket is PCB’s problem, the bottom line is, if a team can’t come up with any substitutes to other current players, then that’s no one elses fault but Pakistan’s iteslf!

No Simon Jones, no Darren Gough...like I said earlier, England will do well to come back without being whitewashed.

This team is just not good enough to live with the Aussies.

an Interesting Incident :-

*PS: Bowling the first over after lunch on day three, Darren Lehmann was caught on camera running his fingernail around the seam of the ball, apparently in near-identical fashion to Tendulkar in the second Test against South Africa last year. It drew brief comment from Messrs Benaud and Greig in the Channel 9 commentary box and at the start of the following over umpire Steve Bucknor appeared to address Lehmann about his actions, with no immediate consequences. Whether match referee Wasim Raja takes any action, or it was deemed to be legitimate, remains to be seen. *

indeed thats interesting

Border Hails Aussie ‘Greats’

Former Australian cricket captain Allan Border has described the current Australian team as one of the best in history.

Border, who as an Australian selector also helped choose the Test side, said he thought Australia would be too strong for England.

But he did not expect the tourists to slump to a 384-run defeat in the opening Test.

“Even months ago I felt England would be competitive as long as all the stars turned up each day to play,” said Border.

**"But you can’t have hot and cold sessions against Australia - you fall behind the eight ball and that’s what happened.

“Australia have got a group of guys together now that are going to end up on the all-time great list.” **

Border defended the dropping of paceman Brett Lee from the team.

Lee, who was replaced by Andy Bichel, responded by taking 10 wickets for New South Wales against Tasmania in Sydney in a domestic match.

**“He’s done exactly what we wanted him to do,” Border said of Lee. “Go away, bowl fast, take some wickets, which he hadn’t been doing.”

“We don’t mind being embarrassed by those sorts of things. You give guys a message and they take you to task and they do exactly what you want.” **

Border believes there is still life in the English team, however.

“If they get the opportunity to bat first on a good day, they need to take it, take Australia on and try and put runs on the board and Australia under some pressure,” he said.

“But it’s going to be difficult for them because they’ve just taken a huge knockout punch.”
