The Ashes, First Test...

Well said Ehsan and Question. :k:

We don’t need to call the English losers. They were already acclaimed “losers” by their own people and press on the first day.

It’s quite obvious on how Nasser had done a total bad descision, costing possibley the test without the first ball being bowled. Hence, dry, flat pitch, batsman’s wicket, yet bowling first.

It was kinda funny though, people on Gupshup, had high hopes that Pakistan would win the series really well, but we saw how horrible the situation came out to be.
Many people in England don’t even believe England will win come home with one test win. But their hearts still with the day they will bring the Ashes home.

England has come to Australia with a paralysed team, where as Pakistan had the same situation, instead playing youngsters. England’s case is playing with their unfit players.

I want to see a repeat of the Ashes, where Botham destroyed Australia. It’s about time the Ashes get returned back to England. This dominancy by Australia in the ashes is too.. much.

I could expect England to win in Perth (if any of the tests), because of the fast paced wicket.

Well what else can I say for Pakistan besides, Pakistan Zindabad!

Read the above Umair bhai and see how England fought back. The trouble is that you think you have monopoly over patriotism and anyone criticising the team is not sincere to the country. In fact Pakistan cricket has probably suffered more from "misguided patriotism" as displayed by yourself. Healthy criticism is always beneficial then trying to hide your head in the sand and say everything is fine and well done boys even if you created two of the lowest test scores in our test cricket history. It does more damage then good.
[/QUOTE]

Yes England is fighting back, but so did Pakistan, i think they bowled well just like how Tresco and Butcher are batting, I think we bowled well the whole series. English bowling lineup are suffering without Gough and Flintoff, just like how our batting lineup suffered even more without our 3 best batsman.

So would you call the whole English team bad, or would you call the Srilankan team who has been all out against a lesser quality attack of south africa than a good bowling attack of Australia.

The problem is with the people who say hate mongering things to the team, and using insults is alot different then healthy criticizim.

No one said criticizim is bad, I never stop anyone from criticizing, I critiziced more than anyone than I know, but sometimes there is a difference between just talking about how a player plays or calling our national team insulting names.
Like loosers, Suck A$$, pathetic.

I reckon England will still lose this test. They've done well to see off the new ball (mainly because they play straight which is always a big help) but they are still a long way behind and they'll have to play Warne well tomorrow. Once the left handers are out it will be more difficult.

The Aussie bowlers all prefer bowling to RH batsmen.

doesn't matter if they lose....they put up a fight....good partnership and the bowlers at the end bowled well.....didn't take em that long to finish the tail...

Hussain Confesses To ‘Big Mistake’

England captain Nasser Hussain has described his decision to send Australia into bat on the opening day of the first Ashes Test as a **“big mistake.” **

Hussain said the decision, along with England’s poor performance in the field, led to his worst day as captain.

Australia destroyed England’s bowling attack in a ferocious display to close at 364 for two after 90 overs on Thursday.

“It’s obvious, blatantly obvious, that the decision I made to send Australia in to bat in the first Test was wrong,” Hussain wrote in his Sunday Telegraph column.

**"As England captain, I am paid to make decisions and I am big enough to admit that this one was a big mistake.

"Throw in the injury to Simon Jones and it added up to the worst day I have had as an England player, certainly since I became captain.

“Everything went wrong from the toss to the close.” **

Hussain said he put the Australians into bat in the hope that his bowlers could use the conditions to limit Australia to 300 for five or six wickets after the first day, in line with recent history at the Gabba.

“The only time the Gabba wicket did a bit for the seamers was in the first couple of sessions, and I wanted to give our inexperienced bowlers the best opportunity,” Hussain said.

**"In other words, let them bowl on the first morning, not on day two and three when the pitch was going to be at its flattest.

“Of course I knew it was going to be a gamble…but at the time it seemed to be a risk worth taking.”**

Hussain said that whatever England did in the rest of the Test it would remain the wrong decision.

But he was defended by Australian seam bowler Glenn McGrath, who said Steve Waugh would have taken the same approach if he had won the toss.

“We were planning on doing the same thing,” he said.

**“If you make the decision to come out and bowl and you bowl well, then everyone thinks you are a great captain. If your bowlers come out and bowl badly, you get bagged (criticised).” **

Today, I like flooding :hula:

Here is a nice lesson for everyone here.
England with all their star batsman in the team couldn't put up a fight. Tresco, Vaughn, Butcher, Hussain, Carwley, Stewart.
