The Anti-America protests

Re: The Anti-America protests

Above being a case in point. The silent majority needs to speak up against such talk and not be sheep to the vocal few. Reject such justifications outright.

Re: The Anti-America protests

Do Hindus, Sikhs and people from other religions do the kind of harkatein that Muslims do?

Re: The Anti-America protests

Well, your answer is absurd to the core.

Do you mean that since Muslims do "something bad" they deserve to have their religion and religious figures mocked at?

Ever notice Muslims in general are most tolerant and do not mock other religions as compared to non-Muslims who repeatedly use various ways to mock at or make fun of Islam and Muslims?

Partly the reason is that at least two other monotheistic religions and their figures/prophets are also very respectable for Muslims and despite any religious differences Muslims do not use derogatory remarks at these religions.

Re: The Anti-America protests

Kaunsi harkatein?

Re: The Anti-America protests

LOL. Would you mind stating which kind of harakteirn you are talking about?

Re: The Anti-America protests

On this point, I fully support diwana. Muslims do not make derogatory comments against other religions. Right here in this forum, 99.9% of the folks do not speak disrespectfully of other religions. That is a great trait. Much respect due on that issue. I say this with utmost sincerity.

Re: The Anti-America protests

Agree.

Anti-western violence gripping the Arab world has little to do with a film | World news | guardian.co.uk

"For years, the jihadis and Salafis thought they had a monopoly on revolution and were the only viable opposition to the Arab dictators.

When the regimes were threatened by popular uprisings, the Salafis took weeks and months to respond. In Libya they initially called for the demonstrators to support the ruler of the land, Muammar Gaddafi. As it became clear that the revolutions would not instantly deliver the brighter future people had marched for, the Salafis began to use that discontent to their advantage.

They are brilliant at agitating on the streets – working on the unemployed, the frustrated, people who feel life should be better. In Tunis, the Salafi agitation began months before the propaganda film – the Innocence of Muslims – surfaced. They attacked cinemas, secularists and artists. In Bahrain and Syria they worked along sectarian lines, and in Egypt they launched vicious confrontations with the Coptic Christians.
In Libya, the Salafis have been systematically burning Sufi shrines and trashing Christian cemeteries, while the government has felt too weak to confront them. Some of the demonstrations – in Damascus, Khartoum and Tehran – will have been backed by the state.

Very few of the people setting fire to the German embassy in Khartoum, attacking the American school in Tunis or torching a KFC in Beirut will have even seen the ‘Innocence of Muslims.’ If the prophet had really been insulted, you would see 100 million in the streets. Instead we only see a few thousand. "

Re: The Anti-America protests

Absolutely. How many times in my life have I had people try to talk to me about my faith? I cannot count.

Virtually every single faith, gender, creed, race, etc has been persecuted at one point or another in time. It doesn't make it right, but it does make it a fact of life.

Im not the best Muslim but I do my best to put a positive impression out there because my name is Muslim and often that's all people need to judge. Why can that not be the weapon instead of a firearm?

I don't consider violent religious protesters Muslim. I consider them anti-Islam and I don't care how big their banners are. They are in direct opposition to everything Islam means so I refuse to call them Muslim. They endanger the lives of innocent people all over the world and a Muslim is not supposed to do that.

Re: The Anti-America protests

I didn't want to debate on something as stupid that even an idiot can understand but I am tempted to ask this question: Do you believe that since Muslims do something bad they deserve to have more respect for their religion?

And that "something bad" includes all sorts of things done in the name of religion like murder, spewing hatred against other religions, not even sparing children.

Talking about respect for Prophets, Ahmadis too have their Prophet, what kind of things their Prophet is called by Pakistani Muslims?

Re: The Anti-America protests

Exactly what’s the point of protesting when they are not gonna ban it. And sometimes ignorance is the best revenge which some emotional Muslims don’t know.

Re: The Anti-America protests

My dear smarty pant, you think even an idiot can understand your point of view and if someone questions you, that person is even less than an idiot!?

Great!

Now:

**Only an idiot **would give examples of few people who are misguided and use religion to cause anarchy, to justify making fun of religion which belongs to a much larger majority who themselves are against these few misguided.

And those misguided people also never come out and say derogatory remarks against two other monotheistic (or any other) 'religions'. I guess you never noticed that either.

The discussion is not about Pakistan and Ahmadis. Unfortunately there are few people in Pakistan who are utterly wrong in playing with the sentiments of Ahmadis.

But this is about global issue.

Muslims in general, all around** the world, do not make fun of other religions, including Ahmadiyat. **

My question remains:

*Do Islam and Muslims deserve to be mocked at, and on repetitive basis, for ANY reason? *

Yes or no?
