Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

Much have been said about this tragedy and many went overboard and using abusive and dirt language against provincial government of PPP. They even did not spare dead Bhuttos. Since CM Sindh has asked CS Sindh to investigate and fix responsibility, CM has to make decision about inefficiency of MPA of the area and minister concerned. Both should be sent home immediately. Otherwise all blame will fall on him and he better then resign and someone strong and young person from PPP lot should take over as CM Sindh.

Qaim asks chief secretary to submit report on Thar situation - DAWN.COM

KARACHI: Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah chaired a high-level meeting, on Tuesday to identify the reasons of delay in the distribution of aid to Thar, asked Sindh Chief Secretary, Chaudhry Mohammad Aijaz, to submit a report within three days affixing responsibility on institutions and individuals for the situation in Thar, DawnNews reported.

Meanwhile, Syed Qaim Ali Shah expressed his extreme disappointment over the negligence of the relevant authorities.

Chief minster directed the Chief Secretary to conduct a proper inquiry and bring facts to the public.

Qaim said the assistance for the drought-hit areas of Thar had begun last year in November, adding that provision of 60,000 wheat bags for the drought-hit people had been ordered on December 13.

Moreover, on every summary of relief department they were directed to provide the people with aid urgently.

He further said that the Sindh government had been serving the people of Thar for the past five years without any discrimination and the government’s support initiatives were still in progress adding that the situation in the region would soon return to normal.

Most areas of Sindh’s Tharparkar district are facing a famine-like situation and at least 32 malnourished children are reported to have died. About 175,000 families are reported to have been affected and some of them have been forced to leave their homes and move to barrage areas.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

Dead Bhuttos are the cause of all this.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

If anything goes wrong in your family can I say that dead elders of your family were cause of all this? Get on with Bhuttos and get a life.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

Its not family. Its public. Its not elders, its elected leaders. Learn to differentiate.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

Elected leaders are people like you they are not fallen directly from heaven.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

Then why do you worship them?

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

Agree and this should be done on priority basis without any compromise.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

We love to dwell on democracy but hate to enact its spirit in our country. It is a simple case of government failure which should be dealt with by bringing the culprits to justice, be it the head of the government. Unless justice is dispensed, such cases will continue to pop up in one form or the other. Democracy does not absolve anyone of its responsibilities by virtue of someone's election or position.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

If these officials were found guilty of inefficiency and irresponsibility, then their removal is a step in the right direction as it will serve as a notice to the whole government and bureaucratic machinery to mend their ways.

Look in the mirror and give this bhashan to yourself. Keep civil, you will get the civil response.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

Do you think your leader has successfully dealt with the terrorists? AP has posted a news item about death of 77 children in Faisalabad in three months due to measles. Have your and Punjab's leaders have brought culprits to justice?

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

It is a shame there are so many medical colleges in Sindh and thousands of female lady doctors graduate from them every year, but they refuse to serve these poor people living in remote area. One of the reason why children died was that the posts of female doctors were vacant in the hospitals to give immediate medical attention.

I was trying to post a beautiful photograph of army female medical doctor serving the poor ladies of Tharparkar, but I could not. When I save the photograph, it gives tons of codes. I have no clue how to post this photograph with the following caption.

Re: Tharparkar Debacle Aftermath

One sin should not serve as an excuse to justify another. It should not happen in Sindh because it did not happen in Punjab? Where does it lead us to? Be it any government, any party and any CM, responsibility of the well-being of people in their respective regions should be their top priority. And anyone failing in its responsibility is the chief criminal.

Let's not colorize it in partisan.
