thanksgiving theories

Re: thanksgiving theories

If its some connections to hindus..still..i have never celeberated it...:)

and for your information..the all muslim mughal empertors ..used to celebrate Basant ..including Buhadar Shah zafar ..was a master of flying kites..showing..the theory of Hakkekat rai..is not so strong !!!!!

Re: thanksgiving theories

yu can say anything to me ..dear sis.. i will never mind...:)

but plz..dont spell wrong my Hero..he is** Sabieh**...not sabih....

Re: thanksgiving theories

You write like Dr Shahid Masood.

Re: thanksgiving theories

^^ no...no...he is under ban now...:D

Re: thanksgiving theories

subsequenbt posts have already established that bassant isnot a muslim event, niether is qawalis, and the manner in which shab e baraat etc is celebrated, however if you can show me examples of sahaba patakha phorr-ing in the prophets time to celebrate shab e baraat, theni would stand corrected.

indeed. the real patriots are all in Pakistan, and its been their patriotic attitude that allows Pakistan to collect 10% income taxes etc. In addition the patriots living in pakistan have made it into a stellar leader in all categories all through the decades.

anyways as far as third class citizens go, I think FATA ppl rpobably feel like that right now, and I know for a fact that ppl of Karachi felt likle that when that city was under siege by paramilitary forces.

Re: thanksgiving theories

DL, you're really kind of cute...you remind me of my youngest. He can be so stubborn that he cant hear what we say to him, he gets so mad he throws his little self on the floor, cries and yells, tells us "You're BAD!! You go to JAIL!!!, hops up and down like a furious little energizer bunny!

The thing is when he gets like that, we send him to his room to think things over. When he calms himself down, he is able to listen to reason. I hope you at some point soon are able to do the same....you miss every point of reason that is offered to you because you're too furiously hopping-up-and-down angry to HEAR what anyone says to you.

Re: thanksgiving theories

They don't throw roses and jasmines even for WHITE American citizens, why should they shower such for Pakistanis :p

Justice Iftikhar took oath on first PCO endorsing military regime, so out goes his credibility... lets not bring him up again here. US courts have freed many many alleged terrorists/plotters, what news do you listen to?

some people finds it absolutely right.as their life priorities may be different..and thier concept of honour and dignity may be of some other type.....sorry..i cannot afford this degradition...i can live poorly in my own country....*but with honour and dignity *!!!!!

what honor and dignity when your own people subdue you, loot you with no justice?

only one group from extreist wahabi side Laskara-i-Jhangvi used to killl shias and in response shias extremeist gruop...Sipahe Muhammad(pbuh) used to kill sunnis...but they reprent 0.00001% of 16 crore people ..even less....and they have already been caught..killed or at run....in my neighbourhood..3 shias homes are...i have never seen any fight to the least ..in my whole life....
I have many such examples too, by bringing this example I didn't mean whole country is indulging in that but to show you a glimpse that Pakistan is not about honey and milk flowing. Pakistan has its own set of problems while US or other countries have their set of problems. Lets not bash one while ignoring the problems of other.

and same discrimaination is about blacks ..in US also..when Katrina **came ..the whole world..seen..today in **Iraq..most of the soldiers are from the poor black states ....which country is free from all these things....
Texas forms one of the biggest recruiting grounds, and US is not "black" as you think. As I said earlier, all societies/countries have different problems, so don't bash the other while ignoring/praising the other.
* plus ..i have never celebrated it personally...:)
Similarly most guppies/Pakistanis don't celebrate the Thanksgiving, so whats the problem?
* in 8 years ..Dictator ..popularized it mostly... for its typical secular attitude ....which he wants the Pakistan to turn into...
Total lie! Basant has been celebrated with lot more intensity before Musharraf, infact it was banned for sometime during Musharraf due to loss of few lives during patang-baazi.
* Shabe-e-barat is a muslim festival..there is a contradiction on the Riwayat ..concerning it..but it is purely islamic one...not any other religion....Sh Jilani has mentiod it in his famous book...
See, it depends on what "sect" you belong to, so its not a fully agreed festival, rather made up in some sect.

Re: thanksgiving theories

divine light did your application for immigration to the US got denied????
Boy these days you sound so desperate and frustrated.

not favoring or celebrating a festival is one thing.... while bashing your Pakistani Muslim brothers and sisters for not getting their share in the blessing, fortunes, and bounties that you guys are enjoying in Pakistan is a total different one.... stop associating them with each other

And Grow Up please....

Re: thanksgiving theories

while i don't disagree with the rest of the stuff you said, this part made me think hmmmmmmm is this the land of freedom and free-will we are talking about here.

no one should have any problem with the way i dress up or i look... that's my own damn personal business.

Re: thanksgiving theories

CG, that was not a complete sentence, she also included refusal to associate, and self imposed isolation from community as part of it.

Re: thanksgiving theories

like i said, i didn't disagree with the rest of the stuff she wrote, however, stating that the way one dresses up or look, out of many reasons to be eyed upon or as a refusal to assimilation, is not really a justification to the freedom one should be enjoying in the US.

or may be i am taking it in a negative way but that bold part just look inappropriate and useless to me as she could have stated her point without pointing towards the religious and cultural practices one would like to observe publicly without harming others.

.... but maybe thats just me... well, whatever.

Re: thanksgiving theories

CG, I think she meant that other stuff AND attire together, not just attire. I mean I have 2 hijabis who work in teh same office, have no issues at work, and have one gentleman with a beard, again no issues. The issue is if people simply are islands and dont associate with others, dont take part in the community, and look down upon the community an on top of that also act asnd dress differently, thats when they may get treated differently, and its because theya retreating those around them differently as well.

Re: thanksgiving theories

Sorry CG if I sounded a bit racist about that...I meant the whole picture...shalwaar kameez, long beard, jewish conspiracy theories, anger at and hatred of anything western....its a total picture, yeah? Theres nothing wrong with wearing clothing of your own choosing. But enclose it in a "total package" like the one I descibed and its an instant recipe for "3rd class citizen" if you get what I mean. Wear Shalwaar kameez and a long beard in a different picture - the one I call "peaceful people" and its instantly a completely different situation. I know this couple who are like that and they're just the definition of peace and serenity that goes so deep that you cannot help but be affected by it. THEY do so much good for Muslims everywhere while the first "package" I described takes so much away....

Clothing CAN indeed define an individual. And of the two scenarios above, both wear the same clothing yet both define such opposing views. Lets hope and pray that the peace and serenity type wins here.

Re: thanksgiving theories

Muslim mughals also used to get married to hindu women, now you're gonna do that too?
Doesn't matter you celebrate or not, you are trying to make it a non-religious punjabi tehwar which is wrong.

To hell with your hero....he's also licking boots of Americans these days.

Re: thanksgiving theories

dont give me Akbar-e-Azam example of matrrying Jodha Bye....etc etc....

and who the hell said to you that he is presently in States...he is "honurable" man...not everyone sees "Kill All Pakis" on the walls. of Glasgow ..and still ...dont feel any shame !!!!!

Re: thanksgiving theories

yeah..go to bars…have sharab and all the stuff..wear jeans…and then it will be all OK…!!!

and when did i apply for it…neither i am 3rd class citizen ..who run from pakistan..neither i am greedy ..hawis parast and dollar lover…I send Lanat …on all that…OK !!!

Re: thanksgiving theories

Well, going back to the topic, basant is purely related to hindu religion but Pakis specially Lahoris love to celebrate it.

I personally don't feel any shame when I see "Kill All Pakis" because most Pakis deserve that type of treatment.

So your hero never been to USA or Britain like you?

Re: thanksgiving theories

So you don't wear jeans?

We send Lanat on your first class citizenship. OK

Re: thanksgiving theories

How honorable is to see Shia slandering Sunnis, Sunnis slandering Shias, Deo-bandi slandering Brelvi, Brelvi slandering Deo-bandi on walls? or is that acceptable to you?
