Indian bowlers were slow, dull, dead and lifeless... don't blame the pitch for your failures. Sehwag scores on similar pitch and you guys regard him as a great batsman, pakistanis score on the same pitch against your dull bowlers and it is a terrorist act.

The pitch is hard and has bounce. Indian pedestrian bowlers don't have the zing to take advantage of it.

Also, professional cricketers play on all sort of surfaces. Why didn't Indian bowlers try to get some movement of the air? But for that you need bowlers like Zaheer and Balaji and not Agarkar and Ganguly.

Coming from you it surprises me. It appears that you lot have forgotten the incredibly dull pitches of Mohali and Kolkatta not too long ago. Newzealand and West Indies were the sufferers when sachin and co made merry. At least Kumble and Harbhajan knew what to expect.

Great now we will have whinners after whinners. First It was english and than you. They whinned that they got flat wickets, It was funny that on those flat wickets they crumbled almost 3 times (if you include the last day of 2nd test as well). Bunch of chokers. And now you will also whine. I don't know if you have flat tracks in India often or not. All I know is that in India, there are spinners paradise/batsman graveyard pitches where a laloo panjoo spinner like kartik can spin the ball like shane warne in his deadliest form. Atleast these flat tracks are not giving an obvious advantage to any single team like the spinner track specially designed for kumble, harbhajan, kartik, and tendulkar.

Nobody got the point of this post. Guess...will have to explain.

Before the series began...there was a lot of noise coming from the Pak side about preparing "FAST and BOUNCY" pitches for the series.

In several threads I mentioned that doing so would end up benefitting India because India's bowling was WEAK and therefore needed FAST & BOUNCY pitch more than Pakistani bowling did.

What we saw yesterday was the vindication of my argument.

I have a feeling that PAK chickened out from preparing FAST & BOUNCY wickets because they don't have enough faith in their own batting line-up.

Listen, this chickening out is laughable at best and suitable only for club cricket. :D

Pakistan defeated England on similar wicket. Got them out for 288 and raked up 636 for 7 to result in an innings and 100 runs victory.

I re-iterate, the pitch is hard and has bounce. Green top? hell no. Not in Indo-pak.

I saw the first hour of the match and I thought the bowlers were unlucky that they didn't get wickets. Agarkar beat the bat on number of occasions and Pathan was impressive...swung the ball both ways. There was help for the bowlers. I think batsmen did well and the credit should be given accordingly.

If you think Lahore is bad, wait till you see Faisalabad. Indian bowling has been exposed just like English attack. However, Pakistani bowling got them the results even on flat tracks...For Pakistan their bowling does the talking...For Indians, their supporters do.

I did a quick search on GOOGLE NEWS and several news items came up with reports quoting PCB officials about the plan to prepare BOUNCY pitches.

However Google ranks the search results in terms of number of clicks..so almost all sites were Indian sites…which I am sure you think are BIASED AND UNRELIABLE… and unfortunately I dont have the enthusiasm or the stamina to go looking for obscure Pakistani news items just to satisfy you.

Fayz and fkhan are right. If we bowled England under 300 twice, how come they couldn't stop us making 600+ runs. And this is 2005/06 we are talking about where we have neutral umpires and millions of eyes on every decision (and khatak dance too). So no excuse.

Now coming back to your real intention of this thread. Looks like PCB or Akram and some other ex-players did talk in media about suggesting or hinting of hard pitches, but at the end who knows what the real game plan been. With Akhtar in eat-alive form and Rana and Sami bending their back to their knees, we are capable produce leathal pace and variation from even mud. Atleast on the books thats what it said after English tour. So I don't see any reason why a home team will lose their advantage/previlige to make suitable tracks. And yes, bouncy wickets would have been more dangerous for our batsmen, however our bowlers could have raised hell on your batsmen as well.

Enjoy the game and Pak in better (better than 2004) form. It will be a close contest, believe me.

What happened to welcoming Indians with Fast bouncy wicket. All the indictions are it is flat one which will start trunign from 3rd day and will be hell on 5th day.

Wasnt captain and all ex-captains sugggested those wickets to welcome Indians.

it is ok..I know the pain...But I have to agree with your logic. Why should we prepare extremely fast wickets and provide Indian SABZIEE_TARKARIEE_ALOO_BAINGAN type fast bowlers with an environment to excel? If the wicket was really fast, there were strong chances that Pakistan fast bowlers would take all Indian wickets within 200 runs but then, there were even more chances that Pakistani batsmen would lose all of their wickets within 150 runs. People like Imran Khan who keep yelling for fast and bouncy wickets in Pakistan do no realize how weak Pakistani batsmen are against the fast bowling on seaming wickets. Yae Shoaib Malik bhai Jan to tesriee ball par out ho Jatay. So let’s exploit Indian’s weakness. Lets screw their Vegetarian Fast Bowlers as much as possible and then pray that our fast bowlers can bowl India out twice. Inshallah…

yeah it looks like Pakistan was afraid of Ajeet Lee Agarkar poor guys…i feel for Indian bowlers…at one point Sanjay Manjnaker was saying “I guess we have to check the speed gun if its working as it never went over 127kmph”

PS: On serious note…its too early to give the verdict. Wait for Pakistan’s bowling and see if their attack can extract some life out of it!
