They started saying stuff like "HUMEIN PATA HAI KE AAP KA STATUS HUM SE KAAFI NEECHE HAI...PAR PHIR BHI HUM AAYEIN HAI TAA KE AAPKO KO AISE LAGE KE AAPKI BETI MEIN KOI INTEREST TOH LEH RA HAI"
Also comments about the house...... the people in the house (complexion-body-job-education). They told us that the mother in law was very good at tracing family history.. and she said she could trace ours by looking at us.. and we came from "LARKIYAN POORANE ZAMAANE KE TAWAIFS KE TARA LAGTI HAI OR AADMI (i dont remember the word but basically she told us that by looking at we were brackgroud prostitues and pimps) i can ensure that is not true ---my family were farmers and landowners!
SHE DOESNT EVEN KNOW US!

Your cousin did the right thing telling them off. Atleast she showed that she has self-respect. Sucks for them they actually wanted a girl from the background they were accusing your family of, and not one who values the izzat of her family.

A rishta came for my cousin and the people were so rude. They started insulting our family the minute they walked in. They werent even talking about rishta stuff....just criticizing. We have mutual family friends and thats how they heard about us. After an hour of listening to their bakwaas my cousin (potential bride) stood up and told them off. She didnt say anything too rud ejust that it seems they are here to criticize complete strangers rather than to see the family and that she couldnt tolerate it anymore. The boy's family in turn said "HUM TO AAPKA TEST LEYRE THE..YEH DEKHNE KE LIYE KE AAP KITNA KUCH SEH SAKTI HAIN..AAP TOH ITNA ACHI KARI THI..PAR AB HUMEIN PATA CHALA AAP TOH KUCH HANDLE NAHIN KARSAK THI " We all stood their wit our mouths opened!! DO people actually do that? Testing? Also do you think she handled it right? What would you have done?
Wow are they crazy or something, what is wrong with people! I am surprised she waited an hour. I mean, someone comes you your house and insults your family ----good luck to them marrying their boy off, I pity that girl!! Your cousin is lucky she got rid of them!

thts really good u got to know them on rite time....
a family came to see me a month ago.....the guy and his sister came to see me for the first time and they like us....then guys wanted to meet me outside in some coffee place........then i went ....they were still agree.......then his mom came from pakistan and visited us along with him ...his bro....parents.....his moms phupooo his son daughter in law......they didnt talk abt agreeing on anything they juz ate and left....n called after two days tht ur family is very shareef and girl is very innocent ....so sorry from our side we r not interested any more........

^One of my khalas actually sent a rishta to a girl’s house just based on how fashionable and outspoken and lively the mother was… so she really liked her personality and assumed her daughter would be the same. When she got there and saw the daughter in a regular suit nothing too fancy shmancy, hair done up in a braid…shy, quiet, and reserved… basically everything her mother wasnt… my khala rejected her 
few weeks later she saw the daughter at a wedding again and here she was all decked up and stood out the most from all the other girls in beauty, charm and charisma… and my khala really regretted rejecting her then 
I mean obviously you dress for the occasion and arent girls expected to be shy/reserved at first during the rishta process anyway? Its so confusing!
