And prior to that you made a claim (post # 66) that extremist Islam exists “because” America funds it, and then ran away when asked to corroborate it.

America did fund extremist Islam by way of books and teaching materials in the 1980’s. I already linked an article to that from the Washington Post.

America’s initial funding of extremist Islam and continuing occupation of Afghanistan, Iraq, bases in Saudi Arabia, etc. also inspires extremists to fight imperialism. We also cannot forget that Saudi Arabia, which would cease to exist without US support, continues to support and help the Taliban.
